All these boxer's saying they are gonna retire so it makes you feel this is gonna be the LAST time to watch this fighter fight. Calzaghe on retiring after the fight: "I wish I had never mentioned retirement. I am a fighter focusing on this fight and this fight only. Not what I am going to do once I retire. I am not planning any retirement parties. I am going to come 100 percent. I am hungry for this fight."
He is definitely not gonna retire after Jones beats his ass. He's gonna wait around and fight the winner of Jones/Hopkins II.
It's not always intentionally a ploy to sell the fight. These guys often believe it when they say it, but then their determination to retire fades over time, etc.. Ya, it does get tiring hearing a retirement speech every big fight.
He should retire unless he decides 50-0 is the number he wants and considering i have never seen him mention it, I expect him to retire.
