Fair but Firm! I have to agree but I could easily do the same to another good boxers record like BHOP. You do make a good point about what a beaten fighter does after he has lost and how that reflects on the winners legacy.

Old, pure old. You've came out with this wonderful bollocks before, expecting a fanfare for your Sherlock Holmes-esque brilliance, and were told the same thing I have told you before, and that joecaldragon told you in an earlier post - yes, we know each other. Oh, what a shocking revelation!! Call the paparazzi. As caldragon has already told you genius, we log on when in the library together sometimes. I already told Cuchulain on this forum a few months ago that Joecaldragon used my username for a while before he got his own account - this is all old news Sherlock. I'm glad something so mundane is providing you with such ecstasy - enjoy yourself my friend. Good for you.

You are clearly on heavily prescribed medication. Hopkins was lucky if he won 2 rounds, all he did was hold, foul and feign injury, the wuss.

Thank you for that, I would've posted something similar but could not be bothered to do all the research on opponents records etc. Everyone hypes up Calzaghe going on about his defences and beating Lacy, well if you go through Lacy's entire record it is full of many close battles with limited fighters masked by the occassions when he has managed to pull out the win with a KO or TKO when in danger of losing on pts. Lacy was always a limited fighter. The only truly great win on Calzaghe's record IMO is Kessler.

I agree. Even though Joe did say in his autobiography written in 2007 that he didn't fancy fighting Kessler because Kessler was "unproven", IMO Kessler is the one true 'great' victory on the Calzaghe resume. It is above reproach. Lacy was overrated and is very limited. Hopkins is a greater and more skilled fighter than Calzaghe, but lost (unjustly IMO) because of age and stamina. Mikkel Kessler had demolished 4 of the best supermiddles there is on the road to Calzaghe. He was a big, strong, powerful, undefeated champion, and Calzaghe was superb on the night. The quality of the win will dissipate with time unless Kessler gets his act together and fulfils his potential before it's too late, but as of now I say it was a great, great win.

I haven't contradicted myself at all. You have either not paid attention, or are rather stupid.

Do you know what a question mark is? It denotes a question. I answered that question - my answer was No.

This thread was a response to a thread started on the same day with the same title- I took the title to break down his resume properly, in contrast to the original thread. The wording, including the word "bums" was not my choice.

Did he face them in his WBO title reign? You're a bum if anyone is. Read the thread title next time.

anyone who cals calzaghe a bum or mediocre has already lost credibility.

    that's just bias.

sure, if you look up 'cherrypicker' in the dictionary there's a picture of joe - but the guy can fight.

THAT'S the frustrating thing about his career.

That's kinda the whole point of this thread. Except you managed to say it in 3 sentences whereas it took me about 300!

Even His Biggest Fights Were Well Thought Out As Both Hopkins And Kessler Were Never Going To Bounce Around The Ring, Being Agile And Using Angles. They Also Lack Above Average Handspeed For Champs.
