Dawson has never fought anyone anywhere near as shot as Jones is now, so let's end the talk of Dawson right here, and get back to the actual thread-subject.

If these guys are so shot, why do they take the fights and claim they are in the best shape ever

WTF does being in shape have to do with being shot? Evander Holyfield is in great shape. So that must mean there's no way he can be shot!

The point is, when did you ever see a fighter get asked about his chances before a fight and have him say "I've got no ****ing chance hasn't anyone noticed I've been shot to **** for 5 years?"

Especially when it's a PPV fight for ****s sakes :D

Sorry, but this really is a dire post. Why do you feel the need to defend Calzaghe against every possible accusation? Are you Enzo Calzaghe?? I mean, anyone with half a brain could see Jones has been shot to **** for ****ing years!!

But seriously every fighter says they are in the best shape ever. Yes, some lie when they say it. RJJ lied. Joe is still a great fighter though regardless.

Why all the hate for Calzaghe.. I don't involve myself in these posts, unless I see total exaggeration and just pure hate for someone who dethroned their hero,Lacy, and got no credit for it...and you know darn well that if joe had beaten the top 3 fighters in their primes, that these lowlife haters wuld cry that they were all overrated, not that Joe fought well THAT is why I defend him....

Calzaghe's divorce was very messy and very public. I would say that there is not a fighter out there that hasn't ducked or been ducked. It's all politics. There will always be calls for Calzaghe to fight someone else regardless of whom he beats. If he beat Johnson people would harp on about johnson's age. I f he beat Dawson, people will say Dawson was over hyped etc etc

By the way... that is the gayest avatar in the world ever :deal

Don't you see that you are trying to combat irrational hate with irrational favour?? You're not defending Calzaghe at all by saying things as stupid as that Jones was in the best shape ever, you are making yourself, the thread, and the forum look ridiculous, as though we are all biased fanboys separated only by being at the opposite ends of a spectrum which ranges from hatred to 'nuthuggery'. Defend someone only when you think they have been wrongly accused, say what you believe at all times and don't irrationally defend someone when you know the accusation is true, otherwise you have no credibility and no integrity. Take each case on its respective merits.

Calzaghe fought Jones because (first and foremost) it was a big money fight, and (secondly but crucially) this version of Jones has a big name but a low risk to the zero, because he is shot, and has been for four ****ing years! That's not love, it's not hate, it's just the truth. Jones was big reward and low risk.
