Pretty fair and reasonable there pal, can't disagree.

About that being his last fight, I sure as hell don't think so. Calzaghe already admitted if HBO offers him a good amount of money he will take it and against anyone. At this stage I believe he deserves to demand more money to get motivated to fight, the man has done it all and needs some money to be motivated, HBO should know that and make a good offer soon.

I honestly think Hopkins deserved to demand more money at that point, maybe it does sound greedy now thinking of how far Calzaghe has come but back then Calzaghe was a complete unknown, hell even when he fought Hopkins recently he wasn't that popular overrall either. Hopkins was also an unknown before those talks started but after his victory over Trinidad he hit really high, actually high enough to attract DLH to fight him. Calzaghe at the time was going nowhere, even if the fight wasn't going to happen in Wales, still Calzaghe offered a lot of risk with no reward at all, you think anyone would have given Hopkins credit for beating him if he did in 2003?, if you do then I'll be surprised knowing that Calzaghe wasn't known of at all till he fought Lacy is when some people paid attention.

He'd had a STRING of better than "adequacy" career success. And no fighter would ever come to America-because the fighting science is a real good place for fairness to occur excellent in fact!. An what proof he didn't do a sane(AGGRESSIVE IN FACT

We need to get McBride in there with Lewis, and he'll make a similar claim.

Calzaghe is an undefeated fighter.. beating 2 hall of famers (maybe 3 with Kessler, time will tell). I don't understand why some people on here don't give credit where credit is due. Based on what some people say, Calzaghe is a B level fighter who just happened to be lucky.

Come on, maybe you just don't like the guy... But beating the big three of Kessler, Hopkins and Jones is a huge accomplishment.

To be honest with you, right now I can't see anyone from 160 to 175 lbs who can beat this guy. Show some respect, Calzaghe is one of the best fighter of the decade.

Bernard asked for $3M and Warren (and Calzaghe agreed).

The point is, no matter what the ammount, once you ask for it, get agreement, and then, change your mind and ask for double that ammount, that's bargaining in bad faith.

$3M would have been a career high for Bernard at the time. He was not well known among casual fans before Tito.

He was simply being greedy. $6m was out of the question.

At a minimum, it can not be said by anyone who expects to be taken seriously, that Calzahge ducked a younger Hopkins.

As I already mentioned, IMO, Calzaghe would have won anyway.

 Oh please... You just refuse to acknowldge Hops and Jones are pretty much done at this stage. Neither will ever win another title. And it's doubtful they fight any other contenders. Many posters are simply being honest with their assessment of Jones and Hopkins at this point, yet YOU want to act like those wins were HUGE. So you antagonize anyoe who says differently, while tryong to play the role of the "knowledgeable fan". You are playing the troll more then anything else.

If Joe C pulled out 3 times (for whatever reason you want to use), it's highly doubtful he fights him at this point. Probably a good move for Joe C anyway. Win or lose, Joe C would not look as good against Johnson as he has against the other old timers.
