Uh oh, you are once again, making a sensible post...Mcnasty aint gonna like this, he's gonna jimp on me for agreeing with you....Of course, he and the rest of the haters haven't poted anything sensible yet:D I will be the firt to admit RJJ was great in his day, but Joe would give him a good match, rather than the nonsense the haters say.....just as thy FACTUALLY said " Lacy, KO 3 " ( March 2006 )

I don't disagree with that...never have I said that about RJJ...show me where I have,..I just said factual stuff. If you were on here in 2006 Feb, and saw what was said about the golden Idol, Lacy, then the lameass excuses when Joe beat him......you'd know what thes haters are really made of:patsch

Uhm, my point was.... only other Joe nuthuggers like yourself are viewed as sensible in your eyes.

I just find it amusing you think everyone else is delusional, but only other Joe nuthuggers are the sensible ones...

And if someone were to simply bring up the fact that Roy/Hopkins are old, you automatically label them "hater"

    Now who's being sensible?

That's not correct, and you know it..Joe was about 2 years from RJJ, and 6 from Hopkins
Hopkins ducked in 2003, and waited till 43, don't blame that on Joe....I have stated on here that I believe RJJ would win, does that sound like a hugger?
you say I'm a hugger for agreeing with most of what they say, well then you are a hater to agree with the haters...I have said Joe would make the fight competatve, but these lame haters say dumb **** like KO rd 1...and why haven't YOU and the rest of the haters junped on a 26 year old dawson for fightin a 39 and 40 year old..what do you say about that??:tired

In 2003, Joe Calzaghe was a nobody. An overprotected Welshman afraid to leave Wales/UK, flailing his worthless WBO belt around like anyone really gave a ****. He was not willing to come to the States to fight Hopkins and Hopkins obviously wasn't going to fly to Wales to fight some dude no one ever heard of, so let's stop the ducking bull**** already huh?

He waited til he was 43 and still gave Joe the fight of his life. What do you think he'd do to Joe if he was still in his prime? :deal

I've said nothing other than "Roy and Hopkins are past their prime" and you've automatically labeled me a hater. Stop trying to act like your views and those that agree with you are sensible. You're just as crazy as the "haters"

And wtf does Chad Dawson have to do with anything? :huh I thought this was a Joe Calzaghe thread.

Agreed. I thought Jones was overated. When he won the WBA Heavyweight Title everybody forgot who he was facing. John Ruiz is a joke of a boxer. He hugs people so much I do know whether he wants to have sex with his opponents or fight them. Jones fought so many mediocre to tomato can fighters. Who did he fight besides James Toney who was only a very good boxer when he moved up to Cruiserweight. Virgill Hill, Montell Griffin, Clinton Woods? These fighters are nothing special. This just proves that Jones is the king of the mediocre, not the best fighter of the 1990s

    No,No,No,No you dont help matters.:?

RJJ was the best fighter of the 90's, closely followed by Sweetpea. End of story.

OK, so you are not a hater, but my comparrison is that Joe fights one past prime, 2 years older than him, and the one 6 years older...Joe gets hell from the haters for doing that..Why then was Joe jumped on, but not Dawson?? He fought two past prime, not 2 or six years his senior, but THIRTEEN, AND fiourteen YEARS his senior. and the haters of Calzaghe see nothing wrong with that??If Joe did that at 26, these haters would go nuts..You know very well that they have an agenda with two things they are ordered to do
    1= Hate Joe
2= Call everyone he beats, a bum

The king of mediocre??? He beat 15 world champions in 4 weight classes. Gave up 30 pounds when he dominated Ruiz, probably could have knocked him out if he pressed a little harder. Virgil Hill won a Cruiserweight title after Jones knocked him out with a single body-shot. Roy knocked Montell Griffin out in 1 round when he was undefeated, top 10 p4p, and victor over James Toney 2x... A 6th Round Ko over Woods was something that Tarver and Johnson couldn't do years after.

King of mediocre my ass....A sure hall of famer, ATG , and best fighter of the 90's save Pernell Whitaker.
