Why are singling out Dawson btw? A lot of younger guys fight older, more experienced fighters. It's a good measuring stick. If anything, you should be commending Dawson for fighting such tough veterans like Tarver and Johnson. Both are obviously still contenders. Tarver even had a legitimate claim to be the man at 175 after unifying 2 belts with Woods. Are you seriously trying to imply that Dawson would have had a tougher time fighting some young unproven mandatory than two battle-tested former champs? Dawson didn't even have to take the Johnson fight. He took it to test himself and see where he was at in this early stage of his career. I never saw Joe Calzaghe at the age of 26 fighting guys of the caliber of an Antonio Tarver or a Glen Johnson. :deal

14 years in age btw Dawson and Johnson you say? Well ****, Pavlik has Dawson beat! 18 years btw Pavlik and Hopkins. Hopkins is old enough to be Pavlik's dad, and not only did he beat him, he won every round. It's not about age, fool. Every man ages differently and hits/falls off their prime years differently. Roy was already past his prime at the age of 35, meanwhile Calzaghe at 35, is still in his best years some would say. And then look at Hopkins. He's 44 and can probably still win a title or two. Now picture Roy Jones when he's 44... and in the ring! He would be murdered! No man ages the same way. A fighter like Hopkins and a fighter like Glen Johnson, these guys fight 10+ years younger than they really are. Age is nothing but a number when you're talking these guys..

So stop singling out Dawson, you hater. You're as much a Dawson hater as anyone else in thread you called a Calzaghe hater.

Hopkins ?..... wake the **** up, that guy is still some fighter & that was a great achievement by Calzaghe when you compare that fight to Hopkins other LHWT performances, including the one AFTER the JC fight.

I think as we speak their resumes are pretty close, but ny next year Dawson will have a better resume than Calzaghe.

Well how come Marciano is considered an ATG?? He beat a 38 year old Joe Walcott for the title and only defended it 6 times. Those defences included beating Walcott again,beating a 33 year old Ezzard Charles twice,beating a 42 year old Archie Moore and beating limited Don Cockell of England. Joe Calzaghe WILL go down as an ATG wether you like it or not. JC beat both Hopkins and Jones - FACT All this American BS about what you think would have happened if those guys "were in their prime" means nothing as it is speculation,opinion and guesswork. Americans ought to start living in the REAL world rather than wonderland. Here endeth the lesson. :hi:
