I don't think Calzaghe ever had Hopkins really shook up but if he didn't have that rest he could have maybe been stopped on accumulation, he was running out of gas.

i think so, joe already admitted on his 24/7 that he pitty patted against hopkins.that what bhop says he is the master of and thats how he cons the judges.

bhop says rjj vs joe will be a shadow boxing contest, and he want be surprise if roy wins cause he is not in any real danger of getting koed by joe calslappy :hi:

hopkins still has never been badly beaten in his entire career and probably never will. As for Joes power overall, it is average nothing more nothing less, featherfisted slappers dont have as many stoppages as calzaghe even if there are more TKO's than KO's. Furthermore the difference between calzaghe hopkins and hopkins pavlik is Calzaghe.

Seriously though are all those weak punches partly the key to Calzaghes amazing stamina. Basically he isn't putting any real energy into the vast majority of them - so not wasting any. Just a thought, not saying if it is right or wrong.

Time please mate? You said "blatantly hurt". I have just watched the 11th round, I haven't noticed it yet. If it is indeed "blatant" then it must be clearly visible. When is it??

    Nice video.

Some people are pretty delusional, this myth Calzaghe didn't land any shots is idiotic. He didn't land many, but there were occasions that were clear and easy to see if you can try to judge each passage with an open mind rather than drooling over Hopkins defence and catergorising every Calzaghe shot as a slap.

In between he landed a lot of partial blows too, which count if the other guy is throwing hardly anything. 115-112 Joe Calzaghe.

Thanks, i'd prob do one of hop landing cleanly on calzaghe aswell plus hop missing on more than one occasion. Your approach seems very analytical, thats what i tried to show in the vid. By the way woodall commentating really helped the vid, he knows his boxing well.

Time? Are you referring to the light low blow that Hopkins went down after either in pain at a low blow or to get a couple of minutes to take a breather as he is 43 years old? Either you are referring to a different instance, or you are confusing tiredness with being physically hurt as a direct result of a punch. If you give me the time, it should clear that up.

If I remember correctyl, zagy himself on 24/7 said that his gameplan was to throw more weaker shots rather than sit down on them, its oponents loss if he cant find counter to such strategy.

I'm still waiting for a time? Have been waiting on it for pages now?? I've just watched round 11 after the other guy mentioned it, and I cannot for the life of me see Hopkins "blatantly hurt". How many minutes and seconds have gone when it is "blatant"?

    Maybe you are right.

But, Calzaghe did not win convincingly. A second fight would really established who the best man is and erase all doubts, especially after the Hopkins last performance against Pavlik.

Plus, there is a lot of money to make.

I would argue that every time Calzaghe landed a solid blow to the groin, Hopkins was pretty badly hurt.

But aside from that, he never even buzzed Hopkins.
