Seriously Dawsons last fight i was quite surprised how much of the round he took off. He seemed to take half a rounds rest every round. Versus Calzaghe who barely take a second off. I agree after a couple rounds Calzaghe would dominate

You have to take into consideration he was fighting a rematch there was no real need for, except that Tarver had it in the contract.

I doubt Dawson's concentration or motivation was what it could have been, he just coasted it.

Calzaghe by UD and it doesn't take serious knowledge to see it. Dawson tends to wait a lot and his workrate isn't consistent enough as he clearly takes rounds off, he did so many times against Tarver and others. The reason why he struggled with Johnson the first time is because Johnson never gave him room to take rounds off and fire at will like Tarver does, Tarver is a guy who tends to wait and a counter puncher. Calzaghe will be there throwing from start to finish and we know how many punches Calzaghe throws it's not even normal!, the guy is there to let you know he will be active throwing punches till the last second of the 12th, a man who throws 1,000 punches a fight is not someone Dawson will feel comfortable with.

Dawson is a world class fighter, Calzaghe's style is just wrong for him.

Chad Dawson would decision Calzaghe if they fought next. Something like 116-112, a competetive but clear fight in favour of the younger, slicker boxer.

Right now, Chad Dawson in a landslide decision. Joe is aging, and the time off would only hurt him. Chad is entering his prime, and you'd probably see a Jermain Taylor-Bernard Hopkins type changing of the guard with the gifted JC rallying late but failing to erase an early hole.

A serious layoff(Joe has not kept in the gym) is suicide for a fighter with Calzaghe's style.

3 years ago? Joe Calzaghe, 120-108, but those days are done.

I seriously wonder how anyone could say Dawson looked like crap against Tarver. He basically shut him out. :patsch

Dawson is bigger, faster, stronger. Chad will actually punch back for a whole fight unlike other fighters Joe faced.

Dawson has the speed and ring intelligence to make calzaghe the eurobum that we all know he is deep down inside.

What happens when Dawson catches Calslap with the same body shot that made Adamek back across the ring 20 feet?
