Naz captured the WBO, IBF and WBC belts, and beat the WBA title holder in Vasquez.

I think you're opinion of Naz is childish.

    Give me a break.

Hamed just smashed a few bloated cupcakes. He never fought anyone world-class, until Barrera, who totally showed him up as the cretinous clown he always was.

If nothing else, Hamed will rembered for carrying boxing on his back for most of the 90's in Britain, he was a major sporting star and cultural icon. Most people in Britian have never heard of Joe Calzaghe, at least until very recently, and still he doesn't have anything like the popularity or appeal of Hamed.

You don't come on this board very often do you? ;)

Seriously, if Calzaghe's career had ended with the Lacy fight I'd have given it to Hames as he fought better guys and achieved more up until then. Wins over Kessler and Hopkins give it to Calzaghe for me.

I cant beleive you mention how legacy involves everything including personality and then go on to criticise calzaghes. You say calzaghe needs to grow some balls and fight a few more fights yet naz was the one to quit when things went wrong. You say calzaghe is the "bad" persona personality wise yet naz is the one that was speeding on the wrong side of the road and left a person for dead. That shows a very bad personality for me he was either a coward who wanted to escape punishment or he was an uncaring person who was willing to leave a person to die. The boxing resumes and styles i think you make very good and fair points but to compare personalitys you are being very one sided and bias.

  11. Hamed was a massive worldwide name..... Who ispired tens thousands of youngsters to boxing. I can only think of one person who made a such an impact on the sport and thats Tyson.

The fact that ppl still talk about Hamed as a bigger than life star years after he retired and will we will still be talking about him for years to come..... Where as Joe will be all but forgotten outside of Wales in 5-7 years

i am pissed off that Naz quit after one minor setback, Naz is probably one of the greatest boxers ever but he gave up, so Calzaghe has a far better legacy.
