I picked Joe Calzaghe, he has fought fresher guys in recent years while Manny has only fought one guy who is fresh that is JMM, the rest were washed up guys Barrera Morales then he had a few lesser fights inbetween I think its fair to say in terms of who has done more recently Joe should get the #1 spot, had Manny fought Guzman it would be a different story but lately he has streched his career out by having five fights with two guys that were clearly shot.

but pac defeated the pound per pound # 3 barrera and put him into submission. pac kD the never KD em while he was on his low top ten.
pac whooped pound per pound JMM.

Guzman who?? what did he prove inside the ring besides slapping and running after a hit. hes not even elite :rofl :rofl

pac may have fought old fighters, but he put them into submission.

Joe slapped old hopkins, but the 40 something made the prime slapper kissed the canvass in a close fight. :D

4 time world champion, 3 time lineal champ. and he doesnt slap.
came from 106. crossed different weight divisions. ;) enough said

I don't recall that. I just checked boxrec and it shows that Pacquiao is 1-0-1 against JMM. Guess that one wasn't on TV. Do they have "dark matches" in boxing like they do in pro wrestling?

That's ridiculous, Morales was in great shape the first fight and he WON that fight, what more can you ask for?
The first fight Barrera was highly regarded and not many expected him to lose, yet Manny shocked all and now gets no credit for it? :patsch

Fact is Manny is a 4 division champion, met the best in his way and continues to do the same with fights against Marquez(x2)/Barrera(x2)/Morales(x3)/Ledwaba/Larrios and many more. Calzaghe is a 2 division champion who beat Lacy/Eubank(now that's what I call shot)/Manfredo/Hopkins(hardly prime either). Can't believe this poll is close.

He also lost to a past prime Morales and most reliable scorers scored the Marquez fights for Marquez, the 2nd fight, Marquez had indeed showed some decline prior to it.

Eubank wasn't shot, but wasn't prime form or close to it either.

Things aren't cut and dry and if you want call Ledwaba and Larios as real wins, then Calzaghe has plenty on that level. Realistically it's a close call, on paper it's Pac, but Calzaghe's the better fighter overall.

Calzaghe might be better skill-wise but I'm talking accomplishments here and Pacquiao has done FAR more without the need for fighters to fly over to the Philipines to make it happen, nor did he need for the fighters to get rotten old for him to go over to the U.S. to finally make the fight. Based on accomplishments it's not even close.

Pacman. Hopkins/Calzag shouldn't of happened now Joe will get all the credit in the world for beating an inactive old man whose fought only once a year since losing to JT in 2005.

My vote's on Packy. He's interim #1 p4p. Unless Calz beat Pavlik, Pac stays there.
