As I said earlier.. I wouldnt say he has heavy hand but the guy can punch when he wants to.

And yes you are quite right, Mitchell did catch Calzaghe wide open and put him down with a lovely punch. Not making it to the end of the round though kind of takes the gloss of the knockdown. Mitchell of course had never been stopped in his career till that point.... perhaps a perfect example of what I'm saying about Joe being able to turn in on when he wants/needs to.

Agreed:good Also note that pretty much all the qualities you've noted as being great attributes for Joe(and I agree) are also great examples of Kelly's qualities......I'm a fan of both fighters(obviously more of a Kelly fan) I hope Joe crushes Popkins, I like his style, as well as his persona.. I just cant stand the delusional Joe huggers as they're incapable of having a mature and rational discussion with anyone other than other Joe huggers:deal But you're alright mate:good

The bad news for you ‘mate’ that I might like Pavlik more than Joe... and I still think he's gonna whoop Kelly's a** pretty bad... you know I've made some arguments in style and the probable outcome of the fight (of course I might be wrong and I'm willing to admit it IF it turns out that I was) and your response is that "Well Kelly did in 07 what took Joe 10 years to accomplish". What the hell are you talking about? Is this a solid argument in your opinion to my claims that the 36 year-old Calzaghe will school Kelly BECAUSE he schools the aggressive, hittable, predictable fighters no matter how younger (11 years exactly) they are, not because he made more title defenses? Pavlik even slower and smaller than Kessler (fight weight) but then again I don’t want to compare the two styles, because that’s not my point.

Your argument suffers a big blow, 'cuz Taylor too did it in one fight what took 8 years for Hopkins, to win the World Title, and Jermain still got his ass whooped against the very next opponent (Winky) so by the time he met Pavlik to get KTFO, Hopkins was already ranked higher in the p4p rankings (due to the Tarver win) and had and has a better resume… so does Calzaghe… so what’s with the quick rise to the top if he’s gonna get punished and crushed that quick as well if he’ll meet Joe? Let’s see Kelly reigning as MW king for 10 years and staying undefeated in the process… but that’s only gonna happen if he’ll avoid JC, MK and maybe Abraham, but that last one is not an easy fight to predict.

Calzaghe Vs Pavlik would be a mismatch.

Kelly was taking Taylor's jab, Calzaghe's Is faster and sharper.

On the evidence of the Taylor fight , I can't see him getting near Calzaghe .

Pavlik's accurate but slow and predictable double jab and straight right won't even connect against Calzaghe. He will get beaten to the punch and outclassed.

Also we have no evidence Pavlik's power has carried up a weight , 1st attempt at 166 - and no knockouts , although Taylor was shaken once maybe twice.

I'm having fun adding your name to the list of the guys who'll have to read back their OWN posts if these fights happen. You know... the biggest punishment comes when one is creating an opportunity to punish HIMSELF. That's what Kelly's gonna get if he fights Joe. You'll just have to deal with your own sh*t. :hi:

Calzaghe dosen't have a good defense? Well its easy to have a good defense if you run around the ring like a pansy and barely throw a punch! Calzaghe has a good defense if you take into account the amount of chances he takes to get in scoring punches. He's pretty good defensively for the style he employs.

First of all, let me get this straight: I don't have a hero. All communication between people of the same so-called 'subculture' is rendered useless by conflicting personalities of those who gain more satisfaction from the offer of fame and money that from creating a level of interaction and thought within their own kind. Those with more ability become inherent leaders and are then subject to exploitation for personal gain other than short-lived false heroic status by the media whose job it is to create idols to sell their product to the gullible public. Heroes create money. The rest of the subculture stick to their media-created restrictions and see their new hero as a part of them. The fact that he has been made into a hero defines his 'followers' complete lack of originality. People need heroes to back up their own half-formed ideas. All original thoughts are regurgitated a thousand times in attempts at self-realization which must consequently fail as the person has merely become an advertisement for someone else's ideas and his own sheep-like mentality. The subcultures decay in solitude and false ideas of unity that only lead to self-destructive tribalism. The media help to create this tribalistic paranoia and reinforce it with exaggerated fears and false heroes. It’s a downhill rush into apathetic self-obliteration. Be Yourself - cos there’s always someone who wants you to be someone else. THINK.

Secondly, you're very wrong and most of the world disagrees with you.
