Calzaghe promises 2,000 punches

Calzaghe will need to move a lot in this fight to nullify Kesslers jab. Kessler relies on the jab and if calzaghe can take that out of play then Calzaghe winning on point is probably the most likely outcome but if he tries to mix it he is getting KOed

 

bit disappointing from Joe, who should be looking at more like 3500 punches in this fight. Still, he usually does just enough to get the wins, so he feels that 2000 punches is enough to get the job done.

kessler doesn't even get close to jeff lacy type power, kessler is not taking calzaghe out, he isn't some one punch ko merchant.

 

There is no way in hell Kessler will stop Calzaghe with just one shot, NO WAY even if he lands a huge punch Calzaghe will take it and fire back.

 

Its not the punching power that is Kessler's limitation is it his relatively static style so Calzaghe needs to move. Absolute guarantee if Calzaghe doesn't move his only movement will be towards to canvas

You made a point, throwing 1 punch per second is impossible for Joe throughout 12 rounds let alone landing them all :deal

i think what he is getting at is he will be throwing a serious amount of punches,thats not really important,joe doesnt possess devistating power so surely the amount of LANDING punches is going to be the key,the lacy fight being a perfect example....although a close fight on paper it turned out an easy nights work just through physical fitness and punch rate,which surely has to be the same way with kessler...joe can fight at a hard pace for 12 rounds and that is his key to victory whoever the opponent is,what pace he can stay at if he gets caught with 1 or 2 good shots is another matter !
personally i see a similar fight to the lacy one with the same result.
