In terms of dominance and quality of opposition, I think Calzaghe ranks a shade ahead of Pacquiao Discuss. I have it Floyd Mayweather, Jr > Roy > Bernard > Calzaghe >Pacquiao > Marquez in the rankings. No doubt.
about on par with mannys best and only great win - barrera 1 except zaggers did it without being roided off his head
No he had overall more quality wins and the fight against Joe was close enough to a draw that it doesn't invalidate the rest of BHop's accomplishments.
Pacquiao had the highest quality of opposition here. Bert Sugar has Pacquiao in the teens in the ATG rankings.
Fact of the matter is - Pacquiao is top 70 maybe, Floyd is top 10, Calzaghe top 60, Bernard top 40's, Roy top 20's
Funny cuz Bert Sugar had Pac in the teens. Mayweather's best wins don't stack up. Jones Jr and Pac are the highest on these guys.
If it makes anyone feel better I like Pacquiao and prefer watching him a whole hell of a lot more than I do Mayweather.:good
Please stop. Pacquiao moved up a ton of weightclasses and spanked probably close to 2 dozen world class guys. Calzaghe fought a handful of world class guys. You're letting your dislike of Pacquiao taint your judgement. Fact is, every guy on that list has holes in their resume, and fights where they capitlized on an opponents age, or size or weight, etc. but all the other guys other than Calzaghe easily have wins in double digits over world class opposition.
My gripe with the way you rank fighters is you go way too much on mythical H2H. Once the fighters career is over it becomes less about how dangerous they are (in this case were) H2H and what they actually did in the ring. At least IMO. Because what is talent if you don't fight the best at their best?
