Yes there fights against Magee do say alot, Robin had no trouble decking him 4 times, he figured out Magees awkward southpaw style and decent defence easier than Froch did, Rob softened him up in his own back yard while he was undefeated. Froch will blow himself out early knowing he is in front of his home crowd with a name in front of him, he wont be sharp because of the 9 months out and hes never had to deal with the rough stuff Reid will bring, Robin will put Froch down

Well, if Froch gets dropped by Reid and if he only wins on points, (unlikely), Carl needs to reset his goals and aspirations...

Well, the way his career has been going, it doesnt show any signs of ambition, does it, its taken him 6 years and in to his 30's to fight an ex champ!

Yes...how could I disagree with that...if he really is as good as he says i.e. elite - he only has one more chance - in Spring 2008...that is it...otherwise he will only be world class. I am thining Inkin...would be a hell of a match and would decide who is Top 3-4 in the division...Anything less than someone in the Top 10 in Spring 2008 and I will no longer be starting threads about Froch...

Something else you cant disagree with, Carl hasnt fought any punchers or undefeated fighters, no ex title challengers or holders.

I use the Magee fight as an example because it was pretty much the same situation, an undefeated prospect fighting a name in his hometown.

Robin can deffinitly do this, if Carl had been active this year and not had surgery then id be worried for Robin but as it is, Carl wont be sharp, he also hasnt faced any real quality and doesnt know a hard fight yet

Sure, Froch has not been tested by anyone very good...but let's face it...Reid is shot...he might know all the tricks in he book and he might be motivated for this and try his best (though I doubt it, somehow), but he will just not have enough in the tank, even if Froch is not at his best...

I AM looking forward to seeing how Froch deals with a good boxer though, particularly defensively - the early rounds should give us a clue...also, I want to see how he deals with someone experienced...let's just hope that Reid will put in a good showing and at least test, if not challenge Froch.

Dammit! It's stuff like this that really makes me want to see Froch brought back to earth with a bang:

I'm wondering how many headbutts Reid will land.

Loads and low blows, rabbit punches and elbows, Rob is a good dirty fighter, this will help him get settled early and keep Carl from settling while Rob dictates the tempo

How does he compare with The Master? (Bika)

Well Calzaghe beat Bika fairly handily but he could only squeek a split decision against Robin Reid

Carl Froch: "If Calzaghe moves up and vacates his WBC title I don't want to just inherit it as that would be unsatisfactory for me. What I'd rather do is face him and beat him fair and square and show I'm number one."
