Ok your acting like those were blow outs... In fact they were close close losses.... especially calzaghe and taylor 1

I dont care if lacy was favored at the time. He turned out to be a b level fighter with a paper title....

I rank the lacy win as high as i rank bhops win over glen johnson :hi:

Kessler just got dominated by a prospect :-(

Yea joe sure has a deep resume compared to winky, tarver, pavlik, tito, dlh, johnson, holmes, eastman

Yeah but guys they actually fought though. Calzaghe himself was 36 years old and 1 fight away from retirement. Hopkins is still going strong and is the top guy right now. Calzaghe whooped his ass. He whooped Roy Jones ass too.

Two men stepped in the ring, of their own free will, one came out the victor, the other the loser. You guys listen to too much **** talking and do too much of it yourselves with all your crying and excuses and reached-justifications. All this bull**** is just that, bull****. You step into the ring and settle it. That is boxing. Calzaghe is the better man, the better fighter.

fights don't occur in a vacuum though. there is a context to these wins, and the context certainly puts them into perspective how relevant they are. all the argument to the contrary won't nullify the circumstances of those fights and the fact that fans and historians remember that. calzaghe's win over jones for instance will always have an asterix beside it saying "not the real roy jones, please disregard". right or wrong, that's how things work

    LMAO whipped his ass???????

You KNOW NOTHING about boxing... that was a close fight were neither man did much damage to the other.....

If anything bhop was landing the clearer effective (but few) shots even knocking calz down

Calz shots did very little damage to hops. They were like pitty pats in a school fight, im sure he didnt even close his hands on all of them. He was trying to outwork hops....

That was not an ass kicking :patsch

    Lacy-calz was an ass kicking

It is the real Roy Jones that stepped into the ring. Its not a poorly manufactured clone, we dont even have that technology yet. If you dont have it anymore, just like if you dont train for it, or you're injured, or whatever, but you step into the ring anyway...then two ****ing bad. Its your own fault, its a discrediting factor of your own boxing brain, which is an attribute that should be judged like any other.

You dont deserve credit for walking into a fight with a pre-made excuse. Its not fair. The guy your bitching for on his behalf gets an opportunity to fight a fight to enhance his legacy greatly...but if he loses it does absolutely no harm at all?

And as already stated that no doubt will be continued to be ignored...Calzaghe was 36 himself and in his very last fights, beyond his own prime.

The only thing preventing Hopkins from being KTFO was his consistant bearhug that he was allowed to get away with, the fight being in his own backyard. So calm yourself Vanilla Ice

He didn't retire because he was done. He retired to protect his "0", which meant more to him than cementing his legacy. It's a shame, because he probably would've beaten most of the guys who he's been criticized for avoiding/ not fighting in recent years.

Also, Trevor Berbick is a better fighter than Muhhamad Ali. Because Berbick beat him you see.
