G Johnson fought no one of note prior to Hopkins and lost his next 2 bouts to lesser fighters after, Tarver had already lost 3 fights in his career before facing Hopkins, Winky, Pavlik, Tito (beat by Winky, a smaller fighter than Hopkins), DLH are all fighters who recently came up in weight. Eastman was a good fighter at european level who had already lost to Joppy and a lesser fighter than say Mitchell on Calzaghes resume, and Holmes who lost to Cherifi prior?
At least the names on Calzaghes resume match up size wise
Eubank, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell, Lacy, Reid, Kessler oh and Hopkins

One thing that hasn't been mentioned about Hopkins resume that I think is worth mentioning is that he's the only fighter to stop Glen Johnson...you can talk about Johnson's 13 losses and call him a B level fighter, but that guy is a tough out for anybody.

It is the real Roy Jones that stepped into the ring. Its not a poorly manufactured clone, we dont even have that technology yet. If you dont have it anymore, just like if you dont train for it, or you're injured, or whatever, but you step into the ring anyway...then two ****ing bad. Its your own fault, its a discrediting factor of your own boxing brain, which is an attribute that should be judged like any other.

You dont deserve credit for walking into a fight with a pre-made excuse. Its not fair. The guy your bitching for on his behalf gets an opportunity to fight a fight to enhance his legacy greatly...but if he loses it does absolutely no harm at all?

And as already stated that no doubt will be continued to be ignored...Calzaghe was 36 himself and in his very last fights, beyond his own prime.

Calzaghe every day. Calzaghe actually won every fight when he stepped up in competition. Hopkins lost twice against Jermain Taylor and to Glass Jawed fraud and trinket collector Roy Jones Jr. :rofl:rofl:lol::lol:

It's typical of fanboy nuthuggers to go "OMFG, there's no comparison, insert overrated fighter here pwns Calfaggy lol etc etc" :patsch

The reality is they fought and Calzaghe won.:lol::rofl:rofl

Hopkins best wins are against blown up welters in Trinidad and De la Hoya. He hasn't really got any great win of note against fighters his own size.

I dont look at Hopkins that way, he is a great crafty fighter but who did he fight that was his size? he milked a division that had no great fighters anymore just so he can make 20 defenses. Trinidad wasnt a 160 lbs fighter neither was oscar. he was trying to get fernando vargas to move up and fight him. instead of him going up in weight to 168. he would rather kill himself to stay at 160 so he can beat smaller guys comming up. Taver tried to fight hopkins for years and couldnt get the fight once taver goes up 200lbs plus to play a role in rocky. taver looked weak as he fought to lose weight to make a fight with bernard. tell him to fight glen at 175 or dawson. No! he could never beat Joe calzage beause he is too defensive minded. He took that fight because he was forced. If Joe wasnt injured comming into that fight it would have looked like the Jones fight. HBO wanted to Kill him over the fact that he never gave trinidad his rematch, and the roy jones fight went down the drain. Now HBO wants nothing to do with this fight at all. It wont even be replayed on HBO again.
