He leaves fewer questions than Mayweather. I hope he means it, no more.. he retires off of a great legacy.:good
I can honestly say that the man left little question about himself good for him. He needs to cut down on paying for his wifes plastic surgery or he will be fighting again really soon.
It's sad to see him go. I had hoped for one more fight considering the Hopkins and Jones fights were not his most exciting. Nevertheless, he has been a joy to watch and will hopefully be remembered as a legend of the sport.
Damn, beat me to it!..... Great decision Joe! I love to watch you fight, but this is fantastic news. Despite what some might say, you are a legend! Nothing more to prove to anyone, you already proved it to yourself and fans, especially those that have followed your whole career! Across the pond they will still doubt you to some extent, but we still await your successor.....for me Dawson isnt there yet and so you didnt need to fight him! Thanks for the excitement and entertainment. You are a great!
Im surprised - I always assumed he would have one final retirement fight in front of a home crowd at the millenium stadium.
I was hoping to see the Hopkins rematch before he retired but its his choice. Anyway i enjoyed the few fights i got to see from him. Very good fighter.
Happy trails, Champ. :good And this is coming from Kessler's #1 non-Danish fan on here...somebody who hoped against bitter hope that a rematch would somehow magically materialize...but no sour grapes here. Joe has nothing to prove to anybody. He's in the conversation as one of the top three super middles of all time (exactly which spot is a matter of niggling debate that I'll leave to historical posterity).
