Both Calzaghe and Jones are legends but it is now time for them to hang up the gloves, Jones showed a lot of heart and courage but looked old. Calzaghe looked good but his best days are past now too, they should both retire now with their dignity intact, both have been great servants to world boxing and both are decent guys. No doubt Hopkins will carry on fighting but when he retires as well I think these three will leave a big gap to fill!
I think thats what makes the end of these guys careers so sad ..Who will fill the shoes of these legends ? You see what the HW division is going through with out Tyson ,Holyfield or Lewis ..Whats next for lt heavy and super middle ? For now Super Middle can be ruled by the Viking Warrior ! At Lt Heavy there is Chad But who's next ?
I agree, there are some interesting match ups to be had at SMW but I think Kessler is going to stand tall amongst them in the short term at least. Dawson will be the man at LHW I think until maybe Kessler moves up and that should be interesting but there doesn't seem to be a lot of talent out there. Boxing will miss Hopkins, Jones and Calzaghe.
