I have watched the Reid fight lots of times and its a clear 2 point win for Joe and with a broken hand to go with it. You never saw Reid complain about the decision after it either.
As for Hopkins, well if holding, spoiling and cheating all night is supposed to win over somebody who is actually trying to fight then I'm a fan of the wrong sport.

And have you also thought that Lacy will be a no mark because Calzaghe mentally destroyed the man? Fighters are never the same after taking a beating like that.

He should have travelled to the states earlier in his career to fight Jones though no doubt about that one.

He was taking a breather the man was 43 years old - not good but what do you expect from a grandpa - to fight like a 21 year old. If people want to talk about low blows Joe actually openly admitted to punching Hopkins in the balls totally on purpose early on in the fight to slow him down.

Well at least Calzaghe managed to beat "the old man" unlike Tarver and Winky. But the haters will always dismiss this win, despite Hopkins p4p ranking at the time.

And Lacy? People like Scurla are all smug and all knowing after the event. But im sure they hoped and firmly believed Lacy was going to blast Joe in thier fight.

I think Calazage is a top5 P4P, his wins over Eubank, Lacy, Kessler, Mitchell, Brewer are great wins, but the Hopkins and Reid fights are very questionable decisions

Calazage lost to Hopkins for me, BHOPs landed the much cleaner punches and Calazage would completely miss 10punch combinations, Hopkins in reality had 3-4times better connect percentage whatever the punch stats say

Eubank fought twice more after the Calzaghe fight and lost both times to that great Carl "the Cat" Thompson. He was way past it.

You are forgetting to mention they were at Cruiserweight were Eubank got very close to winning and would have been his greatest win of his career no doubt.

I think that that would have to be a matter of opinion

    Why?

He had pretty much blown Reid away who was deemed a good test for Froch later than that. And Froch is fighting for the WBC strap next.

Basically that's a massive exagerration. Lacy had a strap and he'd defended 2 or 3 times.

If that doesn't make him worthy of getting in the ring with Joe, then you obviously hold Joe in very, very high regard - right?

Lacy was 28 years old with a legitimate title that he'd defended 4 times, albeit not against the most stellar opposition.

Pavlik is 26 and has defended his titles once, against Gary Lockett.

Is he a 'kid' and a 'prospect' as well?

Imo Joe C never offered Pavlik **** all its just his dad mouthing off again. The only reason Joe is fighting RJJ is because because he thinks he is past it and its a big big payday. I think jOE is in for a big suprise.

For the record I think Bhop did enough to win that fight but what he did do is make Joe look normal and gave him a lesson in the old school.

I think its a shame Joe was happy to fight at home and not go for big names because the one thing you have to admit even as hater of Joe C he has the tools. How would it have turned out if he did travel and fight the bigest names ?
