Trust me if Joe loses a Taylor-Calzaghe fight would be something everyone would want to see. I would buy it:yep I sort of wish Taylor had a win under his belt since Pavlik to make this a bit more credible. But people are fixated with the "0" these days, its pretty disgusting
And hermit your avatar gives me a chuckle every time I see it:)

AA offered to double Sturm's previous best purse and got turned down. The only way Sturm faces a pulse is as a mandatory. I'm sure Mundine was promised a shot to vacate for Kessler, but I have NO idea if Mundine can fight at 160. Neither Mundine nor Sturm impressed me in their last outings.

Taylor beats Joe 'easier' in as much as it is a style match up. Taylor is just plain faster and both really are just out scoring points.

I did'nt know that about AA and Sturm....well I guess it's safe to say Sturm-Pavlik never happens unless Pavlik camps out in Germany and beats him down in a fist fight:lol:

Abraham has already fought in America and Calzaghe went to Germany to defend his world title so why can`t this emerging superstar do the same?? :hi:

Calzaghe is clearly a great fighter but fighting Pavlik would further increase his legacy. Most people think Calzaghe would beat Pavlik but in the end talking about it and doing it in the ring are 2 different things. If he doesn't fight Pavlik it doesn't take away from his legacy, but beating PAvlik would add a lot to it.

If you're refering to Pavlik as the emerging superstar I don't doubt that Pavlik would go to Germany to fight Sturm but do you really think Sturm would accept the fight? Considering he already turned down his countryman AA. And whats with the ****ing waving? Did you prove some sort of point? Either you are Sturms biggest fan or a serious Pavlik hater. Then again I'm not sure what the **** you are talking about as you really havent stated anything, you just waved like a jackass. Say what you mean. No need to beat about the bush with rhetorical questions, ****ing meathead:nut

Ahhhhhhhh. Leave Calslappy alone. He's a good boy. He fights a lot like my cat. Pitty-patty... pitty-patty... pat pat pat.

Its very cute you really just need to take time to get used to it.

    :p

The reason you won't see Calslappy fighting Pavlik anytime soon is because Joe knows he would have his ******* handed to him with a side order of "whipped" cream.

Suddenly you don't hear about him wanting to retain his SMW strap like he said he wanted to. He's waiting for B-Hop to get his skull shape re-arranged first, but hoping secretly that the "Executioner" will pull off a miracle and somehow beat Pavlik. This would enable Joe to say Kelly was never good enough to fight in the first place.

Can't say I blame Joe for taking the money though. Who the hell wants to get their brains sprawled across the ring when you can take an easy pay-day against a faded legend whose name can give you some sort of bull**** "status" among the greats? :thumbsup

The key difference being, no real critics thought Lacy would beat Joe. He was too limited - and those insiders in the know felt Joe would tie up Lacy on the inside and nullify his best weapon - that stonking left. Guess what, Slappy Joe did just that.

Kessler was a harder call - it was obviously going to be a much closer fight. In the end, most everyone who knew anything felt that Joe's workrate would prevail in the end. And it did.

Pavlik is a different breed of animal for Joe to tame. He's not going to give him as many chances to hit without being seriously banged back. And that's punching power Joe has never really seen. Pavlik will do something to Joe he's not really used to -- he'll cut him off and stalk him down. The idea that Slappy will walk through those punches are ridiculous. His chin ain't that good. It was exposed (by a mistake he repeats often) against Bernard Hopkins -- and if old man Popkins with his need to gasp for air is gonna do that to you, then Kelly's going to smash him back far enough to rattle his ancestor's bones. :p :D

No matter how many theoreticals you like to pull - ain't nothing gonna change that. Even Slappy Sr. knew it when "The Ghost" starched his boy's stablemate in 3. It wasn't the fact that folks thought Lockett would stand a chance. It's what people saw when they looked into the face of Gary (which by now resembled Rhinocerous hyde) and saw the hopelessness of his quest. :|

Little pixie Enzo quickly hushed any talk of his son meeting Pavlik after that. :rofl

Yeah, like what you wrote really "proves" anything.

I tell ya though, whenever I need a good laugh I always speak to a Calslappy fan. Nice to put it all in perspective when talking to the delusional. :p

Ok, the onus is on you. Go find as many articles as you can from "real" critics who knew what the were "really" talking about. Show us all what they said in the lead up to the Lacy fight. While you're at it, find what those "real" critics said in the lead up to Douglas-Tyson or Trinidad-Hopkins.
