Calzaghe says he will stay at 168 for Pavlik!

Joe will make easy mince meat out of Pavlik.

 

First of all Joe caught him past prime, second THAT WAS 10 YEARS AGOOOOO! Geez you guys are romantics that think of the past as if it was the present. Joe Calzaghe would be an easy fight for Pavlik, once Pavlik hits him, Joe is gonna try and slug it with Kelly, and then that would be the end of Joe! Get over it, hes done, and hes no one to be name calling, like he calls the shots, when its the other way around!

 

Because he was able to beat the champion at MW, after nearly getting KO'ed himself, does not mean that he will be able to beat the champion at SMW.

 

Eubank refuses to be ko'd. I see no one in history doing it and thats from 160 to 190.

 

I am not saying that Pavlik isn't a very good fighter. Of course he is. But this is not the reason Calzaghe wants to fight him. There are good fighters out there who aren't as hyped as Pavlik who would provide more of a challenge to Calzaghe...e.g. Dawson, or, at SMW - Bute. In other words, all I am saying is that Calzaghe wants to fight Pavlik because he would make more money for a lower risk than a fight against Dawson, another American, for example.

Do I think that Pavlik is the best MW? Sure I do; and he deserves all the praise. But he believes the hype if he thinks he could cut it against the top guys at SMW; it's just not his weight; that was my 2 cents...:good

 

Man, to say Cal was looking for Taylor to cement his legacy is as sad as it would be to say Taylor was fighting Spinks or Ouma to cement his. I just don't see how any fan of Calzaghe can support the idea of him now trying to fight guys from a lower weight class to show that after all this time he truly was bad ass. ffs. He needs to go up like all the other p4p bad asses do to show they really are the goods if no one in their own weight class is a challenge. Looking down to cement legacy, lmao.:-(

 

Calzaghe was going to fight Steve Collins (top 10 168). Collin pulled out so he faced Eubank (top 10 168). During his formative years the middleweight champ (Hopkins), supermiddleweight champ (Ottke) and lightheavyweight champ (Jones ) didn't even utter his name and turned down GOOD offers. Suddenly a new era came into play and young guns now NEED Joe to make a name so he has done away with Lacy and now he is facing ANOTHER undefeated champ. Then he is looking to other young champs like Taylor and Pavlik.

You don't need to like him but don't hate on what he has done.

But he didnt get Ko'ed, he got him squarely multiple times, lost his legs, got up and KNOCKED HIS ASS OUT! If anything youre helping my argument of how much of a badass Pavlik is. Slappy Joe would also suffer the same treatment.

 

I would be impressed as hell if Calzaghe were trying to call out Dawson, but not anyone from a LOWER weight class. Maybe to eventually cement his legacy Pavlik will need to call out Alcine or Spinks, or Travis Simms etc.

 

Stamina, work-rate and power are all Pavliks forte's so whats your point? That Pavliks knocks him out? Cause thats what its sounds like to me.

 

Great... Joe is calling out smaller guys again. A Manfredo rematch would also be great :-(
