Well as a neutral, I don´t give Calzaghe that much credit for that win last night. Call me a hater or what you want, i dont care.
I wanna see if JC fights one more fight vs. a young, hungry fighter like Dawson. If he beats him, he prooved everything. That he not only can dominate the old generation, but the next generation as well. That would make him truely great and would shut up the haters.

So come on Joe. Be smart and brave and test yourself vs. the next generation at Light Heavyweight and then retire as an ATG P4P. Give your people in Wales one last big show.

ideally that would be great, realistacally calzaghe can get just as much money and just as many fans fighting freddy flintstone if he took a last
fight as he can get taking a big risk v dawson.

sean, on the basis of mostly their last performance, how do you think Dawson would deal with Calzaghe in Wales? I know you've already told me your view, but maybe it's changed since yesterday!:thumbsup

Joe has nothing to prove against yet another American hype job.

If Hopkins, Kessler, Lacy and Roy Jones couldn't beat Joe then how is Chad Dawson going to do it?

Personally, if Froch wins his next fight, then Joe should fight Froch and then retire.

I'd like to see it, and it should have happend instead of Jones. At this late stage I can't see Joe taking the fight, and you can't blame him in a way. He's retireing now. It would be a bit of a sham if he goes fighting Froch instead of Dawson though, imo.

    nothing has changed.

it would be very hard for dawson to go to wales and clearly win 7 rounds v calzaghe and get the judges nod.

if calzaghe were to take a last fight , even his farts would be cheered to the rooftops.

i am about 90% sure dawson will not get the oppurtunity though.

I agree. If he fights anyone, for me it has to be Hopkins in a rematch. My second choice is Dawson...but it is by far the worse choice for me.

sean, you know how highly I rate Dawson, despite the fact there's things he hasn't proven yet, but I think Dawson couldn't win more than five rounds, clear or even close rounds at that, even on Showtime, with the judges he had against Johnson, in his mother's living room, with Gary Shaw refereeing the fight. Calzaghe, I think, is just too adaptable, too intelligent, too good even at this stage.

a young, hungry fighter huh? Does the name Jeff Lacy ring a bell...?? When Calzaghe fought Jeff Lacy many believed Lacy was the man to beat and one of the youngest, hungriest fighters in the game. Calzaghe RUINED Lacy's career, beat an undefeated Kessler, which can probably beat Dawson, and a strong Bhop. If you think Bhop was old and washed up by the time he fought Calzaghe just remember he dominated Tarver and beat the hell out of Pavlik...so Calzaghe practically beat a prime Bhop as well. Also, noone..EVER..has dominated Roy Jones Jr like Calzaghe did last night..and they only had a three year age difference Give the man a break.. HE DESERVES to retire as P4P one of the best fighters in this generation. The man has beat every fighter put in front of him without a question.

Carl Froch and his team have already offered Calzaghe 5 million to fight and that would be a big fight in the UK.

Chad Dawson is only getting mentioned cos Kelly Pavlik lost. Maybe Chad needs to give Johnson a rematch - he wasn't that convincing against him - some thought he lost.

Does Dawson bring any money to the table?
