This is about their perspective reigns what do his losses have to do with it ? He didn't lose for 10 yrs let me guess your one of those people that actually think Joe's 46-0 is more meaningful ..If thats the case Sven Otteke had a better reign :hey

Trinidad trumps any of Cazaghe's wins. With revisionist history its easy to diminish the achievement, but coming into the fight Tito was coming off the demolition of Joppy at 160 and was the clear favourite. P4P he was ranked in the top 3, and if anything he looked better at 154 than 147.

The numbers and other names on their respective resumes are pretty much a wash.

You are absolutely biased to put in big and bold, underlined guys like Chris Eubank when Hopkins had to travel to Central America and in a very hostile environment, high altitude and a big MW in Mercado who knocked him down twice, then you put a bum like Sabot with the same size as Joe Lipsey in a fight where Hop came out bruised and won by KO?? You put Rick Thornburry with the same size as John David Jackson? And why such a size for Richie Woodhal, wasn't he Kayoed by RJJ and later to Keith Holmes? Then you put Charles Brewer in that size when he was in the downfall of his career, not immediately after having fought Harold Graham or was it? But the most absurd thang is that you consider a bum like Manfredo compared to your own Howard Eastman... You do not deserve an answer in this poll. Joe fought his mandatory contenders which were WBO SMW contenders and Bernard fought contenders and Champions to become undisputed, WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO Champion and defended the title 20 times against the 13 successful defenses of Monzon. You know absolutely nothing! I have both Calzaghe and Hopkins careers in tape and you know you can't argue with me!

A lot of people are forgetting Joe was an undisputed champ too. He held the ring, WBC, WBA, WBO at the same time and held the IBF for a while. People should remember this is a title reighn vs. title reighn thread. The reason I made it is because I honestly believe he had a better run and he seems to come under attack the time. The moment a guy wins a title and defends it a few times people say he had a better run than Calzaghe. We all know Calzaghe had the better run of these two if we're honest.

its completely misleading to say he was a bona fide unified champ in the traditiona 'defendnig champion' sense. he unified in his last fight and then ran. He never fought as an undisputed champ, and only fought on ONE occasion with more than the mini WBO title.

Basically, he was undisputed champ for a few hours of his life straight after the Kessler fight and that was it, because he had no intention of defending the full title. Some shitty undisputed reign that was.

If you think Cal's actions are of a respected undisputed champion then you may as well call Amir Khan the next Muhammed Ali, compared to him.

Dorfmeister - I'm sorry you are biased. Mercado retired with 19 wins 10 loses and a few draws + Hopkins didn't beat him in central America he drew. How would that be any better than traveling to Germany and stopping Veit in 6? (Veit went on to beat Jurgen Brahmer) I simply underlined title winners and I belive I missed 1 off Calzaghe's list as I remember him saying he'd beaten 6 former champs in the Lacy build up.

Personaly I regard the ring magazine title as the true title these days. Calzaghe won and defended that since beating Lacy. I don't think Mayweather has fought once for a undisputed title. Your just picking at bones now and you know it. I think Calzaghe clearly had a better reighn and that's not at all unfair to say.

Well Hopkins doesnt have any MW wins as good as Eubank or Kessler, whilst Calzaghe has both.

P4P I think Trinidad is a great fighter, but he wasnt as good a MW win as Lacy was a SMW win.
Tito was one fight at MW and one MW world title win
Lacy was an established SMW with five world title SMW victories

I think B Mitchell was as good a win as Holmes

Dont forget that one of Hopkins defences was a NC
Dont forget that Veit was an int world champ who had made a defence

    Easily Calzaghe.

There will be a flood of people saying that SMW is new and MW established like thats meant to alter how good the comp was, but it didnt bother these people when Holyfield was fighting LHWs in a brand new division at that time

Oh I know who he is reffering to and I would say that its a good possibility, as the traits are very similar, and like you, after a schooling would come back to be passed around and beaten up a bit more.
Yes I would say its possibly the same pissy little poster :dead
