Also a couple of important things to remember, Hopkins is the first TRUE undisputed champion in boxing of the modern era... he unified the IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO titles while picking up the ring magazine strap and in doing so proved his absolute dominance in the division whilst Calzaghe (who was also an undisputed champion of sorts) had a fighter in his division for a number of years who managed to put together a similar 'undefeated' streak whilst staying at home and unlike Hopkins (who left no question as to who the best in the division was) Calzaghe was unable to get a fight with Ottke and though it may not have been his fault it does take some shine of his 168lb reign.

Calzaghe dominance was weaker. While Calzaghe was a king in the SMW division, other weak kings lurked around such as Svenn Ottke, Markus Beyer, and a few others.

Bernard Hopkins was a king, who went on to conquer all the other kings until a young prince in Jermain Taylor stole the throne with the help of HBO.

 

In that case you can go and edit your opening post and underline Andrew Council, Simon Brown, John David Jackson and Carl Daniels who all held titles at lower weight classes.

They both had great runs.

Joe fought people his own size, the times Hopkins did he was beaten.

Bernard feasted on smaller men, if Joe fight's Bernard's fights and vice versa then you get your answer.

There fight was poor by the way, BHop doing the cleaner work but nowhere NEAR enough to win the fight.

If you scored it wide for Bernard, then you need to take your tongue out of his bum crack, and learn how to score a fight.
