Eubank, Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins v Pavlik would be very interesting.

Nevertheless, Joe wanted the fight and now he doesn't. His dad could have said to him 'this guy could ruin your clean record'.

Jones is a **** fight. Jones is an awkward fight but for no reward. Jones is proven to past his best. The power seems gone as well.

You can't tell me Calzaghe has cooled on a Pavlik fight because Pavlik beat Lockett? Come on FFS....you think Calzaghe didn't know Lockett was going to get a beating? Even Lockett knew Lockett was going to get a beating.....

 

the scene of boxing refers to an issue of the purse from the hopkins fight - this is nothing new with sports network, ricky hatton and johnny nelson have also had issues

 

I almost fell of my chair when i read about this!!!!!!! OH MY FACE. we will defo see the Pavlik fight now i think.

U reckon Warren will drop alot of Calzaghe fighters now???

 

Let me make it clear. Calzaghe going cold on Pavlik fight cos Lockett lost is not what I'm saying. I'm just saying maybe Enzo had a word and now Calzaghe whats to increase his chances of staying undefeated!!!

Warren might be pushing the Pavlik fight as the better send off. They all say RJJ is a diva who is impossible to negotiate with. Maybe Warren prefers to negotiate with the experienced Arum!!!

Just thoughts.

 

Another thing to point out is that Warrens TV deal with Setanta means that Calzaghe doesnt get a hge chunk of PPV revenue, like Hatton has done for his last couple of fights.

Setanta must be pissed off, as Sky can now bag Calzaghe for Jones Jnr and potentially Pavlik, which would get huge buyrates.

 

oh and wasnt it only yesterday that Warren was saying "my man calzaghe is not going back to 168" so it must be news to Warren LOL

 

I think the fact that Warren negotiated a deal with Setanta for all Sports Network fighters must have had something to do with Calzaghe's decision.

No doubt the line from Frank was: 'Accept this and get on with it'

I wonder how Setanta feel now having negotiated the deal with Warren - unless the deal contained a clause with respect to Joe Calzaghe.

This is certainly about money - and why not, Joe is the one putting his life on the line in the ring, and is entitled to as large a share of the cake as he can obtain, as opposed to the promoter, who merely hires the venue and does all the admin work!

A promoter hire a venue for whatever cost, price the tickets accordingly in order to pay the fighters appropriate fees plus give them all the TV money and take a fair chunk for your efforts.

Whereas Warren seems to do all the deals with TV and pays the fighters **** all, I bet all they get is a set figure plus add ons for all the tickets they sell!

 

I think its more likely the Calzaghes saw how much the Hattons made a couple of months back and thought "We'll have some of that". No promoter to take a slice and PPV sales which he wasn't getting with Setanta.

 

Setanta must be pissed as Sports Networks 3 biggest fighters at the time of the fight - Khan, Calzaghe and Macceranelli our now either fighting on other networks, not signed with Warren or lost there biggest fight and wont be able to draw like they used to.

Didnt ITV sign with Warren when he had Hatton on board???

If Khan was to leave Warren i honestly think he would be finished!!!

 

Shocked by this myself, old Frank will be slagging him off in the Sun next week.

 

Something tells me the next news out of this will be.

1- Calzaghe signs with Golden Boy Promotions.

2- Warren fills law suit against Calzaghe and Golden Boy Promotion.
