Sorry to Say it ,For Joe Calzaghe Who I do rate but in terms of his Boxing legacy It is way to late now to be leaving Warren .Alas Warren has a proven track record of taking an age to provide the big meaningfull contests whether Hatton, Calzaghe or anybody else .All the While serving up over hyped and useless filler for his Guys and passing it off as something else. What a waste .I can though ,appreciate the logic and justification behind Joe`s desire to fight RJJ than KP .Dont agree with it mind you KP is the rising star and a real test while RJJ clearly a great but has been on the wane for a ew years . I think it tells you ,where Joe see`s himself at this stage of his career. Although some of his comments about Pavlk made little sense. I do think though ,that despite his many assets, Power ,good ring generalship and chin Pavlik is beatable .Especially his clear weakness in his defence .No head movement what so ever, as well as a propensity to go in straight lines. Almost amateurish in that regard .Perhaps connected with his trainer Jack big gob little brain Leow .However it looks like that it will be King Arthur or even Winky Wright (thats if he fights again or is to old )that may exposes this rather than Joe Any way thats my view .

calzaghe has to be gratefull to Frank Warren..

there is no way he would have managed to make 20 defences without Warren.

Warren manouvered him well through the division, when the division was at its weakest for sometime.

Joe never faced one P4P guy at Super middle, who else can get away with that and make millions.

Khan should stick with Frank, cash in before he gets starched

Pavlik beat the young No:1 and then P4P fighter Taylor twice.

Something JOE Calzaghe has never done during his reign.

Joe may not have taken risks earlier in his career but I think it is rubbish to say he hasn't in the latter part. Regardless of your opinion of him now, Lacy was a genuine threat and a favourite. The Kessler fight was not only historically significant but also a very real threat. Don't pipe off with a load of crap about how Kessler was unproven and a eurobum. Kessler was big, strong and near textbook perfect with his abilities. He unified belts and beat some of the best supermiddles available. And then Hopkins, who was in the top 5 p4p ring list, a proven veteran and had the ability to beat Joe.

Give the man credit where credit is due. I understand that many people slate him because they recognise how great his ability is and see it as a shame he didn't fight more significant fights. Thats fine, but I think you are nit picking and looking for gaping holes in his resume, where really they are only minor pinpricks. Jones Jr, Toney and Hopkins were not ducked by Joe, they were not at his weight or were uninterested. Joe fought some bums (who hasn't - see Mayweather, Cotto, Hopkins ROY JONES JUNIOR!!!), he also fought the best and has proven himself as the best supermiddle ever.

The rest is just icing on the cake.

Ok say he earnt 10 million pounds his whole career (which is a over inflated amount really id say it was closer to 8mil) hed have to pay his dad for training him who he wouldnt leave out of pocket. He also had to pay his wife 2mil in a divorce settlement, so say that left him with 5mil yes i agree he could live a life of luxury but as a family man would want his family to live a life of luxury aswell.

10million dollars really isnt a lot these days, nowhere near as much as it was 10years ago theres no denying it its a fact! In another ten years it could be worth even less!

What even makes Pavlik the toughest test out there? Whos he beat other than Taylor? Taylor isn't exactly great he beat Hopkins twice on close points decisions and its debatable that he even won! Pavlik looks Taylor made for Calzaghe too being a slow slugger who comes forward thats easy to counter, remember Jeff Lacy?

Even as a Calzaghe fan i'll openly admit his record is pretty average his best wins being Hopkins, Kessler and Lacey so at the end of his career do you really think hes thinking more about that or money. Plus in 50 years time when people look back at his record people would rate RJJ as a better win even though past it or Pavlik a limited guy who fought against very limited opposition, put it this way Pavlik aint becoming an ATG thats for sure.

1000000 in the bank at 6% gives £5000 per month in interest if joe has 5 mill thats £25,000 per month. With out touching the 5 mill in the bank. If joe only spends £10,000 a month the £15000 comounds in to the 5 mill which makes even more money. This basis would be risk free .If Joe invested in property ect over the years god knows how much money he could have built up

Totally totally totally agree, way to many haters. Though one thing i have to agree on is that he should fight Pavlik, it's got a great match-up and is a match-up that is relevant now.

Unlike the RJJ match with was relevant yesteryear. Why not fight Pav now and then RJJ and call it quits. Don't think anyone would argue to that. But lets get this straight JC is a top fighter, no need to ppl to be calling the dude a bum.

His next fight is the last, so this doesn't really matter. He chose Jones over Pavlik and that pretty much explains why this guy met no one worth mentioning in his prime. I said it before and I'll say it again, if both Kessler and Lacy didn't fly to him, even those 2 wouldn't have been on his record and if Hopkins and Roy Jones(soon) aren't BEYOND shot, then they won't exist on his record as well. Now with that, go take a look at his record and ask yourself if this guy is really worth being in any ATG list.

Calzaghe has invested in property both here and abroad.
