If I come off like Im criticizing Pavlik I apologise he is one omy fave active fighters , Im just turning round what people are saying

and yes Joe is no1 but everyone can see he is slipping and when fighters talk about "ONE MORE AND OUT " its a really bad sign , the hunger is gone.

Joe is being criticized for chasing a name in RJJ and Pavlik is doing something similar.

Anyhoo works over so I'm outta here like Wladimir ! :hi:

Arum said Warren wanted this fight and was still trying to make it. Next thing we know, Warren is toast. Not much to figure out here.

But why did JC decide that he has one last fight in him. He needs to have at least 2 more fights. Fight Pavlik and then RJJ for his swansong. 1 loss in the record is ok. Besides he will be paid handsomely to get KOed by Pavlik, notwithstanding the fact that he is actually in the higher weight than Pavlik. He is supposed to be the #2 P4P boxer. He might as well change position with Pavlik in the P4P rankings.

Didn't Calzaghe v Kessler have the lowest ever viewing figures for a WCB on HBO , wasn't that record recently broken by Pavlik v Lockett .

It seems neither of them is really a draw , and while it would be possible to get 60-70,000 into the Millenium stadium for a Calzaghe v Jones fight , a fight with Pavlik would be held at a 12,000 seater(or similar) arena connected with a casino to try and boost the purse .

More people(by far) would watch Calzaghe v Jones in the UK then Calzaghe v Pavlik and if the fight versus Jones is on Sky Box Office , Calzaghe would probably recieve a large % of that making viewing figures in the UK very important .

Even in the US Jones is probably still more of a draw than Pavlik .

I do want to reiterate though that I would obviously prefer Pavlik v Calzaghe for obvious reasons though . But that doesn't make it sell better .

Calzaghe, just like every keyboard warrior in this forum, has to take care of himself first.

$4? That's a pretty poor purse for Jones.

Anyway, I just hope Calzaghe doesn't want Jones just so he can say "Hey, Roy, your anscestors were a lot like Jeff Lacy."

Not a moment too soon, rather too late.

Jones is more of a threat than Pavlik who's a slow plodding hype job who's beaten a buch of absolute no hopers. Kelly is ****, it took this sloth 7 rounds to beat a crude weak chinned Colombian in Miranda, something Abraham managed to do more dominantly in 4 rounds. Jones is more of a threat at this stage, he actually has some skill, hits harder than Pavlik who dispite what people think IS A ****ING MIDDLEWEIGHT. It's the Lacy scenario waiting to happen all over again. Up and coming fighter beats a load of bums and past it champs on a serious downslide as is put on some plateau of invincibility. Give me a break, the guy's so straight up and down, has no deffense, no chin and no skill. If his best assets are getting up off the floor and carrying on when hurt then those would certainly be on display in a total one sided mis match. Kelly Pavlik - future journeyman in one of the worst middle weight divisions in history.

Beautifully said and too the point. Theres no other reason. Cal-ducky is ducking him for an older fighter to try and keep his record intact. And thats an ATG?????????????????????

    Give me a break.

Pavlik really has the beat the other top middleweight in Abraham and then maybe the top SM in Kessler before he would be ready for the top LH.Its just another example of Americans hyping their fighters up and trying to keep them in the headlines.
