Although RJJ is well past his prime, they manner in whick JC defeated Jones is significant. He taunted RJJ as he beat him to a pulp. JC snatched the will to punch from RJJ. Although we saw Roy lose before, we never saw him mocked and man handled. Joe Calzaghe humbled an arrogant fighter and hopefully retired him simultaneously. Roy the show man was out performed on boxing's most historic stage by one of the best pugilist ever to lace on a pair gloves. Let's hope Calzaghe retires before some younger and stronger fighter embarresses him on his decent from boxing's star to boxing's former star.
Roy Jones was humbled years ago. "You got any excuses tonight, Roy" Jones latest trash talk even seemed shot. He just isnt the same fighter he used to be. Its like watching Ali at the end of his career.
Calzaghe is Peter Pan. RJJ was extremely old and the age difference was almost shocking. This fight had no meaning because Calzaghe doesn't age and is constantly in his prime.
Im glad he taunted and embaressed Jones. Jones deserves it for taking this fight in the first place. Jones hasnt been competitive in years and is an embaressment to boxing at this point.
