Just like Mayweather and Jones were protected in the US.

One rule for the Americans another for the Europeans.

And for the record Calzaghe isnt in his prime anymore.

Get real Joe is a great fighter but no way is he the best of the last 25 years he still behind guys like Whitaker, Chavez, Jones, Toney, Lewis, Holyfield, Lewis, Lopez, Hopkins and Mayweather. I would rate him on par with Oscar and Trinidad.

Nope it just goes to show how FICKLE fans these days are to jump on something new and there relevance of the loss column. ALL GREAT fighters at some stage have lost in there career. Joe had a WBO reign that shockingly farcical and built a reputation in a division that was stunningly weak. You though have fell for it hook line and sinker. Now that he has just beaten an ATG who has never been the same since he came down 200lbs and well past his prime the adulation has gone out of control.

hes a very good fighter but hes not even britains best fighter of the last 25 years like you said, let alone the best in the world.

    its a ridiculous statement.

Correct. Jones has NEVER travelled and the only time Hopkins did he only managed a draw!! Nuff said.

Yes, Calzaghe is a top fighter, but it is threads like his which make so many hate him.

He deserves to be mentioned in the elite group of the last 25 years though, no-one has an easy time with him.

I would certainly not rate him on par with Trindad and Oscar. Tito and Oscar were mutli-weight world champs who had great reigns at the weight facing a plethora of prime world champs and fellow ATG`s. Joe has not. He`s had a career built off 3 aged opponents one prospect and a viking no one never knew much about nor had heard of. Nice wins none the less but certainly not GREAT wins of much relevance historically when you take into account the factors surrounding those fights. History wont remember Joe kindly you best believe it.

I think Mayweather is better then JC... sooooo... to me, Joe C isnt even the best fighter of the last few years, and i rank Hopkins in front of him too. Add to that lewis.... and Roy Jones cant be counted out...

but whatever floats your boat... i dont see how you can put JC in front of mayweather though.

And that means what exactly? Joe didnt leave Wales for his ENTIRE CAREER. The only time he decided to get on a plane was for Hopkins and Jones and thats because he stood to make millions. Its amazing what a bit of money can do isnt it..
The only other time he fought abroad was on the Mike Tyson bill when he fought Kevin Mcyntre in another cringe worthy WBO defence.

in my eyes Calzaghe has only been at the top since his win over Kessler. Before that he was a contender like everyone else.
