The same Popkins that schooled Joe when they fought?

The only thing that won Joe that fight was stamina, and hell he didn't even win it on most peoples cards. And he was 43 years old for ****s sake :rofl

    Most peoples cards?

He won it on 2 of the 3 judges, the majority of this forums (including all what I'd class knowledgeable posters)

So basically, he didn't win it on a few haters or Hopkins fans cards that were already filled out the morning before the fight :hi:

25 years? as in back to 1983?

Marvin Hagler, Pernell Whitaker, Julio Cesar Chavez, Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Floyd Mayweather, Felix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao, Marco antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Thomas Hearns, Azumah Nelson, Ricardo Lopez, Kostya Tszyu, Shane Mosley, James Toney, etc, etc.

Yeah, Calzaghe's definitely above all of these guys.

He's probably not top 20 of the past 25 years. Excellent fighter, very likely HOF worthy, but the greatest of past 25 years? And some tried to argue that Calzaghe isn't overrated.

He is up there... But he has too many hot and cold days. "Luckily" for him he has the hot ones on the right days.

who can feel good about bullying a Calzaombie? I thinks its quite quaint and actually admireable the gumption and balls it takes to post a thread like this.
In thread after thread this guy Calzaghe gets his ass handed to him. His most ardent fans who cling to him like a kid to Santa Clause at Christmas. There was a thread on the forum: the most overrated boxer of all time, Calzaghe's name was on 35% of the posts. I excuse his fans as they dont have much to choose from and they expect so little of their heroes. Over here were heroes abound our standards are much higher. We expect our heroes to prove it the ring against the best.

What heroes are that? There haven't been many of those. Especially in the last 10 years. And how many of them likes to travel beyond the borders of USA?

Furthermore you can't use a poll as evidence, when at least 90% of all of ESBs posters nowadays form their opinions on a warped consensus instead of watching fights objectively. And another 90% of those are newly formed aliases of banned trolls with no clue.

Those shot Morales and Barrera were STILL two of the best fighters in 130 lbs. So your "shot" argument does not hold much water. Pac still fought them because they were the top fighters in the division along with Marquez and Guzman.

Solis was undefeated and a solid fighter who, if I remember correctly, was ranked 5th or 6th in the division. So I though it was a solid win for Pac.

Yes I forgot about Lacy, it seemed like forever since Joe last fought him. Great win. Still not enough to put Joe above Pac.

And no. Sorry to burst your bubble but Marquez did not school Pac. He didn't even came close to "schooling" him. Lets not get carried away here TFFP.
