Kessler-Calzaghe was at least every bit as dangerous fight for both as Cotto-Margarito. Both were about 40-0, and both had 2 WC belts(even if Calzaghe vacated his IBF). It was the most important fight at SMW - like it or not.

It can only be ignorance if you don't think Kessler tried to take the most difficult fights IN HIS OWN DIVISION after becoming WC - few has the same streak, and he tried to gather all the belts for the first time in SMWs short history - without ducking anyone.

It is very clear that you confuse hype and media attention with quality, which is why it makes more sense that Pavlik or Taylor should face AA. All three would be outclassed by JC and Kessler. Taylor tries the easier road to gain a belt in SMW - instead of trying to face Kessler by either fighting Lacy or Froch.

If Margarito was avoided, then the same can be said about Calzaghe. Till Lacy and Kessler tried to dethrone him. That he didn't face Hopkins or RJJ earlier is as much their fault as his.

PS it is obvious that I watch and find interest in other fights than regional fights than you - maybe hold up a mirror why dont you?

Sometimes, to get the biggest fights, you need to leave your backyard and go elsewhere.

Sometimes, to get the biggest fights, you need to take a paycut.

Joe did neither one of these things. The look of disgust on his face when it was suggested to him that he do the later spoke volumes.

Think only Winky Wright, Ali/Frasier/Foremann and a handful other left theirs - so why comment on that? Why wouldn't Hopkins or RJJ fight in front of 30k-60k fans instead of 5.000? In the end Calzaghe travelled outside Britain to face Hopkins - has Hopkins or RJJ done this?

You guys are so hypocritical that is beyond belief.

This is really simple, and I want to help you build a bridge with it.

American fighter's don't come to Europe during their peaks. It just doesn't happen any more. This is an economical issue. There is nothing hypocritical about describing reality.

If Calzaghe wanted the legacy for himself that you want for him, he had to be prepared to make a better case.

If you want the biggst fights you have to travel or take a pay cut.

Once Jones,Hopkins,Toney or De La Hoya get on a plane then talk. Do any American fighters today have a passport.

You are only making excuses for yourself. They make every bit as much in UK or USA for superfights. Probably way more, since the US networks would broadcast these fights still.

Hopkins, Calzaghe and RJJ didn't want the biggest fights to be made, so none of them travelled and faced way too many inferiors instead of the biggest fights.

Like it or not - USA is not the biggest venue anymore, it is only where there is the most media attention - but that will change as well.

PS I couldn't care less for Calzaghes legacy - I care for Kesslers(because I expect more of him), and he has done great thus far.
