Julio Cesar Chavez went nearly twice as many fights winning everyone, against tougher opposition.

I thing Calzaghe's great, he's my favourite fighter around today, but there are many better:

    • Pernell Whitaker
    • Marvin Hagler
    • Thomas Hearns
    • Ray Leonard
    • Roy Jones Jr.
    • Evander Holyfield
    • Lennox Lewis
    • James Toney
    • Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    • Oscar De La Hoya
    • Marco Antonio Barrera
    • Erik Morales
    • Juan Manuel Marquez
He is very good, but no where near the best of the last 25 years, I'm sure there are loads I've missed off there.

Off the top off my head in the last 25 years the people i would rate above him would be whitaker, jones, JCC, mayweather, hopkins, hearns, holyfield and hagler for definite and personally would have barrera, morales, pac and oscar higher to but would not argue greatly if they where not.

It's even more amazing how sad people can be. It's obviously an alias poster who has signed up with the sole intention of providing himself with some light entertainment on a Saturday night.

As a calzaghe fan i argree, who else could pass him, jones ducked him, hopkins ducked him till he was 43 an ran the whole fight, he just retired a talented lacy (who sence joe retired him, he was over-rated)
If i was joe i hang around 3 more years an just prove how good he is, he can box, he can slug, he good power,,,

Calzaghe ducked Jones, he said it quite clearly himself in an interview. But it's obvious you're an alias of the OP anyway. This is why the General Forum has gone to ****.

I notice you could not name any fighter in the last 25 years who whent on a 15 year winning streak. By the way was the quote "I ducked Roy Jones" Here`s 2 quotes JC "A fight against Roy Jones fell through,no fault of my own" ,FW "Roy Jones never, ever wanted to fight Joe Calzaghe,he always priced himself out"

It's funny you say that, cause i have the interview in which he describes jones ducking him within a few feet of my self, would you like me to tell what he said....well in short he says that before he fought sheika that him an jones team were talking about a match up an after joe beat the living **** out of sheika (keep in mind a dangerous sheika at this stage of his career) jones team stopped trying to make a deal, he also stated on several occations, bernard (before he turned 43) an jones would ask for 5 million, get it, then say ten million,,,showtime offered hopkins a big package more then he was getting with HBO or even after with HBO,, but deal was he fights joe after either two or three fights, this was about four years ago,,,,,,,,,the only guy i see that i might debate if he was better then joe, was suger ray lenord, an even he i say gets beat by joe,,,,,,,Jones even said on espn2, that he got nothing to lose that why he would fight joe now, were is before he somthing to lose, an no, i am not making this up, he said while co-hosting friday night fights.............this great forum, where people like you can dream, an guys like me can work with facts.

Calzaghe is probably not the greatest fighter of the last 25 years but you have to say he is one of the greatest winners of the last 25 years.
