    Greatest at 168, yes?

Best? No. Roy in 1994-96 was better.

Calzaghe was the greatest fighter ever at 168 because of what he achieved at the weight, but the RJJ that dismantled p4p#2 and ATG James Toney in 1994 would have demolished Calzaghe on the best night on Joe's 168 career, no question.

I also pick the Toney of 1993-94 at 168 lbs. to beat prime Calzaghe, as well.

Me too, definitely. Calzaghe is a great fighter, but there's no way he has the ability of RJJ or Toney, those guys were born with pure boxing skill, they don't need to rely on workrate etc to win fights.

Both Hopkins and Toney have lost fights through lack of work rate. Part of any sport is fitness and stamina. Calzaghe proved his superiority over Hopkins in the ring and Toney didn`t want to know. :hi:

That's dog**** and you know it. Calzaghe 'proved his superiority' over a 43-year-old, who it was obvious didn't have the stamina or energy for 12 rounds anymore. If you think the Calzaghe that beat Kessler aged 35 would beat the Hopkins that beat Trinidad aged 36, then that a fair enough viewpoint- that was 2 guys giving their career-best performances. But it is obvious to anyone with 1 lonely brain cell that Joe's win over B-Hop proved nothing at all.

Toney didn't want to know? Please tell me when an offer was made to him? What is your evidence for such a ludicrous statement, you biased blinkered little man??

Toney managed to dodge Eubank,Benn and Calzaghe. You patheticly whinge about Hopkins being 43 but JC was 7 years older than Kessler but still kicked his ass. Calzaghe = winner Hopkins = loser :hi:

You're a joke mate. That's like something a 6 year old girl would write.

And Toney didn't 'duck' Eubank or Benn, same as they didn't duck him either, the fights just didn't materialize coz Toney was busy beating quality opposition in the US and those two were busy beating quality opposition here in the UK, then Toney ran into RJJ and Eubank ran into Collins. Grow up and learn a little before embarrassing yourself with silly and unfounded bias comments.

However, you did manage to even top those 2 idiotic comments with the part about Toney ducking Calzaghe.

Allow me to educate you, since you seem to know absolutely nothing of the careers of the two guys you are commenting on:

Joe Calzaghe won the WBO supermiddleweight title in OCTOBER 1997
James Toney had won the WBU cruiserweight title in FEBRUARY 1997

Would James Toney have came down 2 weight divisions to fight a newly-crowned WBO champion from Wales? If this fight could ever have been made, it would have taken big money from Calzaghe, and he would have had to go to the USA, and it would have had to be at light-heavyweight at least. It would have been more realistic to try and make it in 2003 after Toney beat Jirov, but again all the initiation would have had to come from Calzaghe, as Toney was world cruiserweight champion, and would only try and lose weight for a colossal offer.

You have been exposed as a guy who would start a thread about Calzaghe and make endless ridiculous childish comments like:

Calzaghe = winner Hopkins = loser :hi:

when really you don't even know the details of your own beloved Joe's career.

YOU my friend are the loser :hi: :hi: :hi:

If that fat slob Toney had kept in condition they could have met He is hardly the shining example of a professional fighter, talks trash and can`t keep in shape. No Calzaghe fans trotted out Joes age before the Kessler fight because they were confident of the outcome yet the Hopkins fans started their excuses early. So what if Hopkins was older so was JC against Kessler. wake up and smell the coffee. Calzaghe won the fight. Would have, could have, should have count for jack ****. :D

What has all of this tired old garbage got to do with the fact you said Toney ducked Calzaghe? You are being embarrassed here mate, you clearly have the knowledge and mentality of a little boy lost in a forum of real adult boxing fans.

    "You're **** :D"

Try and use any semantics you want. The American ring legend lost to a Brit!! You guys told us Lacy was the new Tyson and Joe ruined him, you`re never gonna forgive him for that. :|
