Ah yes, now I remember. Was way into the newest picture book... Mayweather's resume is closer to a top ten atg then Calzaghe's is to Mayweather's, was the statement I believe... Once again, perhaps another SLIGHT over-exaggeration I made to get my above point across that to downplay floyd's resume and defend Calzaghe's is not credible (even though, if YOU personally have Mayweather top 40-50; Calzaghe top 90-100 - numerically, I was basically right)

English isn't my first language these days, but when you use the word "resume" rather than "ranking" it infers you are talking in real terms rather than on a statistical basis.

You would have to plot out an entire new resume in a picture book that is preferably blank, and add a sprinkling of aggressive matchmaking into the Mayweather diet for him to get anywhere close, he consistently avoided major players in his divisions. Whereas with a couple of good victories here or there Calzaghe would not be that far off Mayweather in my opinion. Too late now, obviously.

look hopkins fight with joe, hopkins ran the whole fight, an needed to play up a low blow to get some rest,,,now look at the lacy fight, at the time the fight was made joe was good size underdog, i think i got my bet a 3-1, an when lacy lace up with joe, taylor didn't want a piece of lacy, hopkins didn't want a piece of lacy, only joe did, an joe got injured an guess what, people said he was now ducking lacy,,,boom, joe blows this guy out an all of sudden he over rated, which he was not, joe just ended his career by dishing out a true asswhipping. Hard to belive hopkins would done that, i know taylor would lost to lacy, probley even hopkins, so joe had to slay the dragon,,,so to the people that don't want to admitt that he better then toney, better then jones, an more then likely the best boxer in last 25 years,,,then your right lacy was over-rated, hopkins always runs like that in a fight, an tires to the point of faking a low blow, an absorbing over two hundered punches, an also has manny stewart saying he never seen hopkins get beat up like this in a fight

He loses a lot of points for unifying the Super Middle Weight title too early, before Joe did, and holding onto the weak IBF, and WBA belts; rather then the prestigious WBO.

This is a level of utter, rank, unadulterated bull****, a form of bull**** so pure, so perfect, that it should be lifted from this forum and kept in a museum for all those who spout bull**** to go and marvel at, and realize how far they have to go before they can even dream of producing bull**** anywhere near as beautiful.

I could go on and on and on and on with this thread, but it would be a thoroughly futile venture, as the babbling brook of bull**** who first posted it is clearly far, far too far gone to be saved through education now, and anyone with either a brain cell or a shred of sanity left, will already know what bile it is without someone such as I boring them to death with a neverending list of reasons why this example of bull**** is so very very pure.

I am finding it so so hard to resist the urge of going down that very road, it truly offends me when boxing, my main passion in life, and my own generation of boxing at that, is degraded and defiled and demeaned by casual fans and/or lunatics, and I feel a powerful compulsion to scream WHO HAS HE FOUGHT?! and HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF PERNELL WHITAKER, ROY JONES JR, JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ, FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR, BERNARD HOPKINS, MANNY PACQUIAO, MIKE TYSON, EVANDER HOLYFIELD, LENNOX LEWIS, ERIK MORALES, MARCO ANTONIO BARRERA, MIKE McCALLUM, and probably more, and an equally strong urge to advise him that NUMBER OF DEFENCES ETC MATTER NOTHING OR SVEN OTTKE IS AN ALL-TIME GREAT SO DON'T USE A STATISTIC AS A REASON WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE NAMES ON THE RESUME, but I must get out of here before I hurl myself into the bull-shitstorm.

Ha ha, **** it, I've started so I'll finish but then I'm not replying again on this, it's just too **** to bother with for longer than it takes to write one post.

Joe Calzaghe is a talented fighter, but he has had 2 great wins in his career, Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler. Great wins, but nowhere near some of the wins achieved by many of the guys listed above, as neither Lacy nor Kessler have proved themselves to be anything other than good supermiddleweight champions for a short spell. And Joe was awful against Hopkins, very very lucky to get the decision IMO. In conclusion, he is very talented but simply doesn't have the resume to match it. And even though he is talented, his talent is nowhere near the equal of Jones or Whitaker or Mayweather or most of the guys mentioned.

God, why can't I resist debating the Calzaghe issue? I have been getting therapy for this, but this post was just a step too far to resist. ABSURD. OK, that's me done, no replies, au revoir....

first post here guys, what pisses me off about calzaghe. is the fact his fans still cling on 'Roy ducked him, B hop ducked him' at the time calzaghe simply wasny big enuf. simple as that. look at what hes doin with pavlick right now. calls him out then pavlick destroys locket an suddenly pavlicks not fit to fight joe. he doesnt deserve the tag as greatest of last 25 years. cos he dont have to resume. simple as that. haha

Lacy never did anything of real note, and now is retiring. If Pavlik convincingly beats a 43 year old Bernard (unlikely) - Joe loses to Jones (extremely unlikely) - loses his 0 - which means a lot to some people; not me, and Kessler does nothing but carry on the same path (his career path is sending me to sleep).

If those things happen, Joe's whole boxing career means next to nothing in ATG terms. He's sailing very close to the wind as a result of not making the fights with prime Jones, Hopkins; or even Tarver, Johnson, Dawson, Wright, Taylor etc etc...

His whole boxing foundations could change at the turn of a few results....

It`s not news to me that American boxing fans regard American fighters higher than any other nationality. You guys are an inwardly looking nation. It may be news to you but the fighter makes the belt not the other way around.Kessler was WBA/WBC title holder but everyone knew Calzaghe was THE man. :D

Ottke was pathetic. When he fought Reid he was looking to ref every 10 seconds for help. I thought he was going to burst into tears. Read the full horror here http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=5449&more=1

He is possibly the best in the last 25 years,
He may not have a lot of power but combining that with his incredible fast hands and exceptional movement makes him a contender to be 1 of the best in the last 25 years.
You don't see any faster hands at the kind of weight calzaghe is at,
    He is truely unique.

32 KO`s out of 45 ain`t bad power. If JC had been born in the Stated this board would be all over his jock!!

The fact that he`s from the U.K. seems to have made a lot of people bitter and envious.
