This guy is either an alias or a fool. In fact, he's probably both.

He may be exagerrating the truth a little, but he would be accurate to say Joe Calzaghe has been the greatest fighter of the last 2.5 years.

    2.5 years is 10% of 25 years

So he's perhaps 90% inaccurate it would be fair to say.

I'm a huge Joe Calzaghe fan, but this thread is pretty embarrassing for me, it's the kind of crap that gives Calzaghe fans a bad name. To even suggest that Joe was as good as Pernell Whitaker or Roy Jones Jr or Julio Cesar Chavez (and there's plenty more from the past 25 years I just can't even be bothered listing) is ridiculous. Joe had great talent and ability, but there is just no way he has the resume to make a claim like this. Why can't we just appreciate Joe for what he is: one of the crop of best fighters of his own era, one of the best British fighters ever, and one of the best guys to ever fight at 168 (probably the 2nd best after RJJ H2H, but 1st in terms of achievement)?

He has never been consensus No.1 in the world.

How the hell can he be termed the greatest fighter in the past 25 years?

    Utter nonsense.

I think he is better than many think he is, but he wouldn't make my top 10 of the last 25 years (he has good longevity, title reign-wise, but his competition and general performance in big/semi-big fights let him down a lot)

This is the type of thread that should NEVER be started. This guy must have not known that boxing is a sport that is very popular in America.
