Can't say with only 2 fights, but the Joe that fought Jones has a chance at anything, but the joe vs Hopkins was not nearly as talented ( based on 2 fights only )
Dear lord not again.atsch Last time, it was the greatest fighter of the 25 years. Now, after beating a ****in' SHOT RJJ, he is being considered as the greatest LH?
To the OP: I admire your enthusiasm for Calzaghe and i'm a fan of his myself but c'mon, this is indeed a true nuthuggers thread!

this is getting ****ing stupid now...this has to be a joke. Two fights against two veterens one of whom was COMPLETELY shot. Roy Jones was knocked out - spark out - by Glen Johnston , years ago. He was shot then and he's even further gone now. Bernard Hopkins is a good win, he is still a very able world class fighter , but he's still past his prime by a distance and the Calzaghe win against him was a razor thin decision that was arguably the wrong one. And he was dropped in both of these fights. A case can be made for Calzaghe being the best SMW ever can be made, but even contemplating him as one of the best light heavies ever is ****ing moronic.
I don't think he is anywhere yet on the light heavy scene. He has fought 2 past their best fighters & has not won a world title at light heavy.
Absolutely nowhere near and i'm a huge Calzaghe fan It just wouldn't be fair to so many other great fighters who have graced LHW, to say he's only fought there two times. Best SMW of all-time and an ATG though
He hasn't got time left in his career to be a great lightheavy weight. He should hve moved up years ago.
Yes he is, it's hard to say other wise. After beating a 43 year old career middle wight, and a totally shot 40 year old at the weight he simply has to be up there with the best at LH.
He may have only had 2 fights at L/H BUT both were against American legends whom Joe travelled to beat CONVINCINGLY. This has to make him a serious contender for the status of greatest ever.
