Sorry if this has already been posted. "According to a report published by the Sun UK, Joe Calzaghe who is set to face Bernard Hopkins on April 19th in Las Vegas, plans to quit boxing by the end of this year. Calzaghe's reason for quitting is he is too lazy. Calzaghe plans on fighting two more times and then he's finished with Boxing. Quoted by the publication, Calzaghe stated he was too lazy to keep on going and he knows when enough is enough. "Im too effing lazy to keep fighting. I know when enough is enough and Ill be out of boxing by the end of this year," said Calzaghe. Calzaghe admits he use to have keep to a routine, but says things have gotten slack. Calzaghe stated: "My routine used to be that after fighting on a Saturday night, Id be back in the gym first thing on a Monday morning. Now Im back training after four months." Calzaghe stated he would have quit boxing after the Kessler fight, but didn't have enough money to retire. "To be honest, after I unified the super-middleweight division by beating Mikkel Kessler Id have retired then if I had more millions in the bank." Although Calzaghe plans to retire this year, he admits for the right price he may be convinced to comeback. "Money talks. Who knows? In a few years time I might make some ill-advised comeback and get my ass kicked!" stated Calzaghe." Ouch... if I was a Calzaghe fan I wouldn't like what I'm hearing from him.
Well, if this is the final year in the career of Joe Calzaghe, I hope he makes the most of it. Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson, not Kelly Pavlik. That would be a perfect way to go out.

Doesn't alarm you fans that he says he's taking the Bernard fight for the money and that his heart is basically not into it????? I know Bernard ain't fighting for the money at this stage.
I didnt mean to discredit your post, but The Sun is utter garbage. They basically write what they want, based on nothing more than gutfeeling.
Remember though that his Ex-wife took quite a bit from him and that having enough to live a nice comfortable slightly luxurious life for the next 35-45 years takes quite a bit of money .
You could be onto something there but you've got to remember Joe just feels he can earn in this fight what it took him 10 fights to get previously so he may come across a little money concious but I'm certain he's focused for the task at hand.
