    actually its worse

the most likely candidate is a rematch with Robin Reid...seriously, someone from his team is shopping the idea to the networks.

Lineal? When did Joe beat the man who beat the man? Sven was lineal not Joe. And Joe made a career of defending against WBO cans. As for 2 divisions incase you didnt notice he fought two relics up at 75 thats hardly anything to gloat about. If you're interested in stats fine just say so. But if you call it as it really is Joes career and his career ledger is nothing short of a joke.

the way i see it is joe was a two time lineal champion in the two divisions he fought at. you can look at it anyway you want, but that's a fact. he was respected number one champion at super middle, and then respected number one champion at 175. also ottke wasn't interested in a calzaghe fight. you can't force guys to fight you know.

Wax philosphical all you want. Sven was just as disinterested as fighting Joe as Joe was fighting him. Both were making comfortable money at home. But the FACTS remain Sven was the consensus number 1 and unified champ before his exit from the division. The only reason why Joe was seen as number 1 is because Sven retired and 68 was a wasteland and one of boxings worst division. Since his exit its now a hotbed of talent.

All Joe made a habit of was fighting his left overs. As for Calzaghe vs Jones and Hopkins those wins were meaningless. Im pretty sure even you realise that. Harping on the fact that he was lineal at 75 means **** all. One win against a 43 year vet hardly established him as the premier fighter at 75.

Just out of curiosity Scurla, who do you rate higher? Calzaghe or Hatton? Because you seem to hate on both of them equally.

Back to subject, I think Calzaghe coming back would be a massive mistake. It would probably gain him more supporters and some more respect if he came back and fought someone like Dawson, Johnson and then maybe the Super 6 winner but he's been out for too long I think and it would end with him losing his undefeated record.

I hate both of them with equal passion. And you can fling LL into that mix as well.

I thought he was dreadful to watch. Talented no question about that but incredibly sloppy.

I've got no love for Lennox Lewis. One of the most overrated boxers of recent times in a P4P sense.

I wonder how much respect he would gain from his haters by coming back and fighting a word class name in his comeback fight, win or lose? :huh

Yeah, Lineal. Become undisputed at 168 established lineage. Hopkins was linear at 175 and Calzaghe 'beat' him. So its correct to say Joe was linear champ at two weights.

These are the kind of megafights boxing needs. Get Matthew Hatton vs. Sugar Ray Leonard on the undercard and this has got 'box office smash' written all over it.
