Joe fought an old BHOP and a shot RJJ that was already brutally knocked out twice before Calzaggy faced him. Chad Dawson fought Glen Johnson, whom Joe ducked and Antonio Tarver. UNPROVEN????

No it isnt, a fight with Johnson is as good if not abit better. Heres why:

Johnson is the more proven fighter, and at this point in time is clearly better than Jones, Hopkins, and Tarver

Johnson deserved the nod more so than Dawson in their fight( 80% of the viewers on showtime thought so as well)

The main reason a Johnson fight is better is because of styles

Johnson uses unrelenting pressure, great defense, solid power, and a methodical workrate....Calzaghe for the first time in his career will have to fight off his back foot and will not be able to apply the pressure that has won him so many fights

Dawson is more of a green tactician of sorts, green in the way of ring intelligence. Dawson is also more defensive minded. For these reasons alone I would pick Joe to win fairly comfortably over Dawson. Again Joe would be able to apply his signature pressure and take Dawson out of his comfort range as he has done with every defensive minded fighter he's faced...

Fair enough. Johnson would most likely make for a more entertaining bout. But at the end of the day, Calzaghe v Dawson will be the no.1 v the no.2. That means quite a bit more than Calzaghe fighting man that was already beaten by said no.2.

I wouldn't be averse to JC fighting Johnson. After Dawson and possibly Hopkins it would probably be the best fight for Joe to take. But if Joe has one more fight in his career, i'd way prefer for him to fight Dawson.

Yeah these are very excellent points, and the reason I want to see Glenn Johnson fight Calzaghe. I noticed something when watching that Calzaghe fight in the amateurs, and its that the guy that beat him kept backing Calzaghe up. He would walk right through his punches cover up and then return fire with more meaningful punches which kept Calzaghe on his back foot. I imagine Glenn Johnson doing the same thing

Old Hopkins gave Tarver a boxing lesson hahaha nice point

Chad Dawson should stop fight old grandpas. What the point?? Glen Johnson could be his father.

Since when was Adamek dead? He was coming off a win over Ulrich in which he looked his best ever, and a second war with Briggs in which he showed guts, stamina and speed...

It's only once he lost to Dawson that we started hearing all the crap about him being wieght drained, sick etc. Typically the mark of a sore looser.

The problem with your argument is that you can spin it forever and ultimately even if Dawson beats lliterally everyone at 175 you can still go on yapping, how there are no good / elite fighters at this weight at present...

is it just me that finds that joke about cheap danish wine (referring to kessler being shot) ****ing moronical? Aside from that- he's not been outta the ring for a week and you lot are yapping about the next big thing that'll prove calzaghe,,sorry 'calslappy' (as proven against roy jones eyebrow) as a fake.
Its funny how most that were mouthing off about how he should take on pavlik are now sayin dawsons 'it'.
Besides the point,, joe actually rates dawson, but he does need a few big fights (beating b-hop convincingly would go a very long way),,,,and ****s sake let the man have a holiday and think things over like he says
