Calzaghe using the same gloves for 12 years????

    Did anyone else see the countdown for Hopkins-Calzaghe? His father showed Joe's sparing gloves and said its the only pair he uses. The padding was wore completly out because he's been using the gloves for 12 YEARS!!

    Am i the only one who thinks that may have somthing to do with his reacuring hand injuries? Is'nt it common knowedge that you get new gloves once you've wore a pair's padding out? Exspcially SPARING gloves!

    as far as i know joe uses specially made grant gloves (can someone confirm this as i know there is a grey area about this) to protect his hands in fights

    Yes Grant made a custom pair of gloves for Calzaghe for the Kessler fight to protect his hands and apparantly they worked great so he used Grant again for the Hopkins fight - Again no hand problems.

    he would have his sparring gloves sent of for repadding .

    they would be big 16 oz gloves probably more anyway.
