It proves nothing since it's what you "think". You're not even sure of it.

Toney was a phenom at middle/super, Calzaghe has never faced a Great fighter and Toney would be the wrong place to start.

Who has Calzaghe beaten that's anything close to a P4P level outside of Kessler? Ask the same question for the people Toney has faced. Why are people so confident about Calzaghe when his competition has been very questionable when compared to other elite fighters?

Disagree there I'm afraid. Calzaghe's been tested there by the likes of Mitchell,Brewer and Sheika to no noticeable effect.

If it's prime Toney, can it be a prime Calzaghe without brittle hands?
If that's the case I see a late TKO for Calzaghe.

Toney's only way of racking points would be countering Calzaghe...now how the **** do you counter Joe Calzaghe? Watch Hopkins fail at that next month.

Calzaghe probably edges this with an injured hand even.

And how about Toney's incredible defense and counter punching? You don't think that will play a role as Calzaghe leaves himself so open all the time?

    Calzaghe leaves himself open?

He is unbelievably evasive, even whilst being aggressive. Look at Kessler's punchstats, a normally accurate puncher landed nothing.

Umm, Kessler landed 47% of his power punches. DOH!

He's evasive because he's never faced a fighter as good as Toney.

Of course it will. The question is will it be enough? I have my doubts.
Calzaghe does leave him self open because hes constantly looking for scoring opportunities. So I see it as a very close fight and am slighty wary of any oppinion that overconfidently states an easy victory for either fighter. Sorry if thats how I came across.

Kessler landed 20% of his jabs, his suppossed best punch.

From round six onwards, Kessler landed 12% of his power punches, this against a faded, weak old version of Calzaghe.

Calzaghe would outland Toney between 2:1 and 3:2. For every counter Toney manages, he would be hit multiple times trying.

Roy Jones is the only fighter (at 168) with the capabilities to beat Calzaghe when Calzaghe gives an average performance by his standards.

Why don't you just say that Calzaghe is God. :-(

toney really hurts and ruins joe calzaghe.

if you have watched both fighters, you would know that toney would shut calzaghe down, make him shy to throw back and then stop him, possibly brutally!

toney inshape is great at fighting southpaws. as far as workrate, watch toney vs jirov, not even calzaghe could have kept that sort of pace/pressure up and throw so many punches.
also calzaghe's punches would not bother toney, i mean if jirovs didnt then why would joes bother him?
