    'could' is the proper word Mark. And that's not even any type of guarantee. Griffin wasn't some Bika/Lacy level fighter.

    pre calzaghe Lacy was better than Bika let alone Griffin.. Bika was awkward & durable but very limited .. Lacy was a seasoned amateur, he wasn't the greatest boxer but he definitely had decent technique and a hell of a hook.. Calzaghe ruined him to the extent that he never really lived up to his potential , he was always overrated but if you watch his rise to prominence you can see why people were high on him when he was knocking out the likes of Reid and vanderpool.. good seasoned durable SMWs.. had he got some more experience under his belt and held off on the Calzaghe fight for another couple of years he probably would have put together a far better career than he actually did.. Bika wasn't a bad fighter for what he actually was but he's not better than Griffin

    Lacy was awful, all he had was power, he looked like a total amateur v Calzaghe, one of his easiest fights.

    I didn't ask who's more fun to watch. There's NOTHING at all you can provide that would suggest Bika > Griffin. None Mark. Any opinion on stating otherwise, is just poorly conceived opinion. I honestly cannot even tell, based on your comments, if you were watching boxing in the 90s.

    I watched Griffin v Jones on Eurosport a couple of days aftder they fought as the fight wasn`t shown live on British TV and it was awful, both fighters just waiting to counter punch until Roy turned up the heat.

    That's just entertainment value Mark. Tito and Oscar fought a dud of a fight at WW....would Andre Berto beat both because he's looked better versus weak comp? No.

    as opposed to bika who looked like a confused drunk having a bar brawl :lol:

    lets be real, Calzaghe beat them both easily in terms of pure boxing it's just that one tried to adopt prison rules & made it harder.. and styles make fights I don't care if Joe made easy work of lacy, Lacy was a former Olympian who was undefeated & had recently sparked Reid who'd never been stopped.. id have favoured 06 Lacy over 06 Bika.. better boxer, more power.. most ppl would have.. that was also an inspired Calzaghe at his near best against Lacy so let's not hold that against him..

    Bika was a handful and I think it was a solid win for Joe when you consider he had just beat down Beyer and would go on to challenge Bute, Ward Dirrell etc but Lacy does and always will stack up as a better win for the Welshman.

    An ancient Bika was one of Wards best and hardest fought wins.

    What did Griffin ever achieve to say he was so much better.
