How does it feel to know that Pavlik will never be greater than Calzaghe, despite making these stupid posts?:yep

He'll never know that ,Pavlik is greater than Joe and any other super middle and former middle in his eyes ..And if he fights Williams he will be his favorite fighter p4p ever !

It's impossible, I wasn't just making something up. Pavlik doesn't have the needed ability to ever beat enough people to surpass what Calzaghe has done in his career, Jermain Taylor will be the best fighter Pavlik will ever defeat. Get him in there with Abraham and the facade is over, or any top SMW.

He won't get it, he's a leading Pavlicker.

 

Hating fights is such a popular pastime it seems. But you know what? Screw all you haters, i'm a Roy Jones fan and i'm looking forward to this fight (even though i think he'll loose).
And don't worry about Pavlik anyone, he's got plenty of years left in his career and he'll get plenty of oppurtunities to enhance his legacy against great opponents, staring with Abraham in the near future.

 

Pavlik is on his first world title his first ! There have been plenty of un recognizabkle fighters who have done as much as Pavlik but still don't get as much hype as him ..Lets see what he does at middle before he is even considered close to great or can even be compared to the likes of Joe ..But since were on this subject of ducking I remember Kessler said he would like to fight Pavlik where are all the posts regarding that duck ? Can't tell me something couldn't of been worked out for that fight at the end of the year but yet you never hear much about that wonder why ??????????:think

 

Pavlik gets overly credited for being a working class fighter that came up and beat Miranda and Taylor, two recognisable names, with Taylor being far better of course and a good win, not a great win, but two good wins and it gets blown out of proportion. Meanwhile, Mijares is cleaning out a far superior division piece by piece and has unified the titles and is ranked lower often.

Then they act like Calzaghe has done nothing, which is absurd, only because most people on this side of the atlantic don't value some of the guys he beat because they aren't familiar with them.

 

everyone knows this fight is a joke apart from calzaghe himself. everyone knows the outcome is going to be a boring UD for calzaghe

Jones looked the best in years last time around... I'm basing that on his speed, reflexes, stamina and punch output compared to his other recent fights, not speaking about the opponents. Roy had confidence in his abilities once again, showed decent power and landed some very well timed bombs Tito never saw coming. Just the type of shots he needs to land vs. Calzaghe. I gave Roy a better chance this September than back in 2004-2006.

And here I go: I think the Jones of 2008 is able to win more rounds vs. Joe than Pavlik. Styles make fights and Pavlik is Joe's type of oppoent (like the quicker, more accurate, better devensive Kessler), Roy is not (neither Hopkins). And Jones is still a bit quicker than Pavlik in placing the right shots. I'd pick Joe by UD in both fights and I think the awkward and accurate Jones bombs are more dangerous to Calzaghe than the quick, powerful but still predictable jab-right hand combos by Pavlik. Don't forget: Kessler was never able to knock Joe down even if he landed a bunch of flush uppercuts and hooks that rocked Joe. Calzaghe saw them coming. A few months later Hopkins timed one great shot Joe never saw coming and down he went. That's the kind of punches where Jones is still damn good. I don't know if Pavlik was ready to take on Joe at 170 at all and I don't consider this fight a joke... because it isn't...
