there's been talk of a rematch since day one...why??

    http://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/sport/latestsport/3818515.Joe_set_to_fight_on_/

calzaghe and jones have promoted this themselves...they sat down, did a deal, remained great friends throughout...no problem there...except, from day one they have both hinted 'we'll have a rematch'...its very unusual that a rematch would be talked about in the early days of a fight promotion..isnt it?...there may be a clause, but to keep speaking about it??...i'd hate it if they took it easy on each other in the fight...fought to a close calzaghe borefest and then do a rematch....but thats the conspiracy theorist in me....that couldnt happen....could it ??

    :huh

It is actually a good idea.
Not that they were sitting and discussing who to lose the first fight and who to win the second one. But they could make an agreement that regardles of the outcome they will have a rematch.

Who could be the next opponent for either of the fighters if they win ?
Only Hopkins, but 1) you don't know what to expect from him cause he is getting younger
and 2) its not that much money

No way a rematch happens. Calzaghe will dominate Jones, and both will retire afterwards. **** end to a **** situation.

I remember Joe talking about 2 fights with Roy, at MSG and then back to Wales, at this point it became kind of transparent that this was 100% about the money. The only reason I can see for a rematch is a Jones victory, in terms of $$$ that would benefit Joe hugely, because the rematch back in Wales would be HUGE. I get the feeling Joe isn't a serious boxer anymore, he is just out for the retirement fund, I hope I'm wrong.

Always looking on the brightside I see!

I mostly agree though. It seems the likely outcome.

Sorry for the doom n gloom, I just hate this fight though. Roy should've retired after Glen Johnson sparked him, and Joe should not have taken this fight.

    IMO.

Jones also mentioned that if a rematch happens then it's going to be in Wales, he mentioned it many times.
