Calzaghe V Jones-wots The Story

i think roy priced himself out again!!! it looks like pavlik calzaghe will happen instead.

 

im glad jones has priced himself out of this fight.

Yeah I hope Roy has priced himself too so we can watch one of the best fights of the year vs Pavlik.

The stage is set now that's the fight that makes commercial and boxing sense!

 

Dont be too suprised, those negotiations may be back on track in Lieu of how formidable Pavlik looked Im sure team Calzaghe isnt too anxious to test those waters. look for that Jones fight to be made.

 

I dont know I think Calzaghe would prefer to fight Pavlik, he will probably look better against Pavlik than Roy and it was reported in one of the UK newspapers today that he would pick up 10 million pounds for fighting Pavlik...not too shabby win or lose!
Plus hes stated in his book that he wouldn't fight Jones because he's been beaten a few times already!

 

Damn i don't like calzague for pavlik. He'll run around and do all that crazy pot shotting **** that i hate so much. I dunno why arum is so anxious and confident to put pav agaisnt him.....but hey you never know, hopefully pav can neutralize cal's technique.

If roy aint never fighting cal then he should fight dawson or johnson.

 

I think it'll be a hell of fight vs Pavlik, Joe will try to outfight him first and when he struglgles there he will use his skills more.
A few years back it would have been more of a tear up.

 

Jones wanted too much money.

Pavlik-Calzaghe will happen in October.

 

Calzaghe will take Pavlik to school. Even Pavlik landing his power shot will not get him a lucky victory given that JC has survived wars with big punchers like Eubanks, Kessler, Lacy, Reid and Mitchell!

 

How much did Jones want? All I heard is one of JCs people saying Jones wanted to much. Has anyone objective confirmed this, and what did Jones want?

 

RJJ wanted 40% which he does not deserve now that he is basically a LH gatekeeper/ journey man fighter.

 

I'd definitely rather see Pavlik in there against Joe than Jones, but I wish Kelly would stay at 160 and Calzaghe would give the winner of Dawson/Tarver a shot, if that fight comes off.

Anyway, Kelly won't beat Joe unless the latter has slipped a great deal since even Hopkins. As long as Calzaghe has his legs, he'll befuddle Pavlik with his movement and speed. Kelly struggled against even the little bit of movement Taylor gave him in their rematch, and he can't defend against combination punching.

 

Not that I am saying Jeff Lacy and Pavlik are alike here, but I remember after Lacy fought Reid everyone saying that Joe didn't want any of that (Lacy) and I think we all remember how that turned out...

 

Is this fight definately not happening then? Haven't heard any develops myself, all I heard is that Warren met with Bob Arum and Don King last week but nothing was sorted.
