Interesting thoughts from Lou DiBella where he states that Calzaghe beats Jones prime for prime and says that Jones was a great athlete and not a great technical boxer.

Does he have a point here?

Forget who would win a matchup between the two prime for prime here but has Jones been exposed for not being a great boxer and simply being a great athlete in his prime since his defeats to Tarver, Johnson and now Calzaghe?

Prime for prime is Calzaghe a better BOXER than Jones?

Calzaghe and Hopkins have both proved that age doesn't matter a hell of a lot if you are still a world class boxer with world class skills without relying on being a super athlete in the ring.

Bernard was a technically superior fighter than Roy in his prime and so was James Toney and they both lost...Prime for Prime nobody and i mean nobody 168-175 beats Roy Jones except for maybe Gerald he would have knocked Joe out had this been 98' stop fooling ya selfs

Prime vs. Prime Jones will kill Calzaghe. No contest. As far as Calzaghe being a better boxer. I would have to agree. I think he is more technically sound than Jones and does a way better job setting up his combos with his jab.

I mean a joke and Lou's part but if you are even taking that statement into consideration then I guess its for both of you,

And please, Hopkins prime could be said to have been when he was 36 he was beating Trinidad upseting to boxing world, and when Jones was 35 he was moving up to Heavyweight beating Ruiz, Now is that Calzaghe has reached that age, and what is he doing ? So dont compare Calzaghe's age to Roys or Hopkins becuase Joe is beating fighters that are at an age that he himself is so hardly trying to avoid having to fight at... thats the reason for all the retirement talk.

That's that same as saying Ali was not a technically great fighter but a great athlete .... they are the some of their parts ... in his prime Jones was much faster than Cal and hit much harder. He defeated a much greater level of opposition. Even last week he put up a game fight and a very gutsy performance ... Prime for prime I say Jones beats him .

When did I say he didn't? You asked what Calzaghe had been doing in his mid 30s, I answered your question.
