    Calzaghe/Kessler Ref and Judges!



    01.11.07 - By Metthew Hurley: The officials assigned to the super middleweight unification bout between WBO champion Joe Calzaghe, 43-0 with 32 KOs and WBA/WBC champion Mikkel Kessler, 39-0 with 29 KOs have been announced.

    . Representing the sanctioning bodies will be John Duggan for the WBO, Renzo Bagnariol for the WBA and Bob Logist for the WBC..

    Both fighters will weigh in on Friday, November 2nd at St. David’s Hall in Cardiff at 2 pm.

    According to the fighter’s camps Calzaghe will wear black and white trunks and Kessler will wear red and white.

    Before anyone starts hating and calling foul, let me remind you that the "home" ref is usually the one with the least biased scorecards; sometimes they even give it away to the away fighter just to make a point of how fair they were, when the home fighter clearly won it - with the spotlight on them, they self-censor...

    Hahaha...not at all...my point was that if the fight was 116-112 to Calzaghe, the other two judges might call it 118-110, whereas this judge might call it 115-113...Of course he will not rob Joe!!! He is Italian, for goodness sake! And if it comes to a split decision, there is no way he will let Joe down...;)

    mike ortega should have been replaced!!!
    team kessler are really upset about it will be ortega.How difficult can it be to get a ref. everybody are happy with???

    because there should have been some strange stoppage and he´s way as a ref. should not be that great...palle is pissed!!! give us steve smoger.

    If these things are so important why didn't they agree on it when the fight was made.

    This is just all spin for the fans and media.

    They actually made a contract (something about the had to agree on judges and such)....and Palle have put his Lawyer on the matter (just on the Radio hours ago).

    Don't expect that it will do any good though...and I don't care cause my believes are in Mikkel!!!
