That's naive. Why would Calzaghe fight Kessler just because he, Calzaghe, is a nice guy and because he wants to make Kessler happy?:huh

But didn't he say in the post-match conference that he would not give Kessler a rematch because he would only get better? :?

Naive? No I don't think so. Not because he wants to make him happy, because the fight was close of course. And a decent bloke gives a rematch, and it doesn't hurt that the opponent is not exactly an a...hole. It has happened many many times over the years. Last time it happened, as far as I recall, was Sturms last fight.

That was just to ease Mikkels pain somewhat!

Calzaghe would win much easier this time pointless rematch and wasn't a close fight the 1st time.

Calzaghe wins 10 out of 10, but Kessler makes 10 fights close out of 10...

Look, Kessler did EVERYTHING he could, while he's a terrific boxer and I believe he beats everyone from 160 to 175, I don't think that he's capable of doing more, he's not that virtuoso.

He tried to outbox Calzaghe from the outside, it didn't work. He tried to do it on the inside, great uppercuts, Calzaghe also adapted to that, it didn't work. He tried to brawl and he looked a better brawler than Miranda and Pavlik combined and still didn't work.. it wasn't a shutout performance, but Joe beat Kessler in every way exists...

To say Kessler is limited is a bit foolish as I think no one from 160 to 175 beats him - so how can he be called limited? But the limits in punch output the one-punch KO (tried but couldn't land one), the limits in defense and offense against a very awkward, quick, slick moving boxer makes him lose 10 out of 10 to Calzaghe...

Kessler would've beaten Hopkins, Wright, Taylor, Pavlik, Dawson and every other fighter on that night, but what Calzaghe did, as he was able to respond to EVERYTHING Kessler did (and boy he tried: change of style, rythm, big 12th round, inside, outside, jabbing, brawling) makes him 10 out of 10...

Calzaghe's performance was one of the best I've ever seen... also the 2nd best fight of 2007 IMO.

As I said. Warren does not exclude a rematch! To my mind it depends on what fights are out there and that both Joe and Mikkel keep their present level. At present Joe is "stuffing the holes" in his carreer, that is, fighting abroad and handing out rematches. He fixed the first one. What is more natural than fixing the second. Follow my logic?

I believe the author of this threads agenda is to enhance Kesslers credibility, thus making his lone conqueror Calzaghe look better still for the victory.

I notice time and again that only hardcore JC fans don't want to see a rematch. I think that says a lot!

The result would be the same if they fought every month for the next year. Calzaghe UD.

Not at all! I see Calzaghe getting KOed 7 out of 10 times against Kessler. Kessler didn't hit that much the first time around and still he took it to Calzaghe. There is no way that trend would continue.

Think your talking out your arse mate.

I think other people want to see Joe fight guys like Pavlik, Dawson and if your British, even Woods. The fight was close, but not so damn close that we need badly to see a rematch.
