And how did Enzo KNOW that Kelly would miss a lot of sparing because of an arm injury and enter the ring with bronchitis? If reading the Hauser article is too much trouble, just go and rewatch the fight. You can clearly see the level of Kelly's congestion when he blows his nose.

Just a question but other than Taylor, who has Pavlik actually beaten? Remember Taylor had Pavlik staggering round all over the place, Carl Froch wasnt even staggering like that, and Taylor had looked quite lucky against a bunch of blown up LMWs. AT SMW weight Pavlik couldnt cause the same impact on Taylor and was schooled by Hopkins who was coming off a loss

I read it at the time it was written. Nazim Richardson and Bernard Hopkins also laid out pre-fight exactly how and why they would beat Pavlik. If we overlooked every loss where a fighter made a bunch of excuses afterwards, we wouldn't be left with much. Yeah, Pavlik had bronchitis prefight and cried afterwards, big deal, it ain't why he lost.

There are tons of old threads with this stuff. I'm not doing the searches. Kelly is the local so I follow it closely. The day after he took took the title from Jermain, Joe was calling out the smaller man, Kelly. There is video of Joe saying he won't fight RJJ cuz he's shot and Kelly is "the fight". Some chick with a British accent interviewing him. I'm not gonna search for something that may no longer be on the web. The anticipation was incredible. Everyone thought this was a done deal because both men had pushed for it. Joe's dad and Jack Loew were jawing back and forth and everyone knew it really had nothing to do with Lockett. Arum picked up Warren at the airport and they were in the process of negotiating the details. Pavlik/Calzaghe was the fight the boxing world wanted. It was probably the biggest thing until Pac/May came along. We got neither.

Joe and Kelly are both low key. There was no trash talking and taunting. That doesn't mean these weren't "call outs". I followed this stuff as it happened and know it happened. I don't care if folks think they get to vote on facts. I know what I know. Believe or not but don't base your belief on 'votes'.

I've given up on thinking you will ever develop reading comprehension.

This was when Warren 'forgot' to mention to Arum that he no longer had a contract to promote Joe Calzaghe....:yep

They never had a contract if I remember correctly. That was at the heart of the issue when Warren tried to sue.

Previous written contracts were submitted at the court hearing covering every fight Calzaghe had while under Warren.

The issue when Warren tried to sue was his claim that, following 10 years of written contracts, Calzaghe had entered in a binding verbal contract for one further fight. Warren was unable to produce any evidence whatsoever for this claim, a fact that the judge described as 'inexplicable' for an experienced businessman. The judge went on to opine that Warren had only brought the case as a 'smokescreen' because he owed Calzaghe a large sum of money.
