Hagler could not have beaten Ruiz. Leonard would have had a better chance at doing that but still would not be able to.

you dont think so. Ruiz was a crappy HWE champ. I think a bulked up Hagler would give him a run for his money, it would be touch and go.

I dont think so because at the end of the day Ruiz is much bigger. The ones from smaller weights that 'could' have a chance would be the ones that are fast on their feet and hands and move to a win.

RJJ was much bigger than Hagler, but he still knew not to stand toe to toe with a Heavyweight.

SRL is fast and could move, but he does not move as well as RJJ and I think he would be caught many times by Ruiz' much much longer arms.

well thats fair enough. facts are not a problem for me either. I could pick any MW fighter starting with Sam Langford all the way up to RJJ who moved up to HW and struggled to accomplish much at that level becasue of the FACTUAL weight difference they were yielding. Is that fair game to you?

i understand what you are saying but Leonard stayed at 160 so it was only 8 pounds up..........going from mw to heavyweight is a much bigger jump

There is no real debate here. SRL would destroy Calzaghe. You are talking about arguably the best ever here.

well leonard was a prime as a welter in my eyes but yeah its not quite as big a jump for welter to SMW, fair enough. But its still 20 pounds, shitloads. If you are giving away 20 pounds (equivalent to a big sack of those potatoes you find on the catering market square, that is) then you are asking to get pounded on. But fair enough its still a good 10 pounds short of Hagler versus Marciano.

if they were prime for prime and in the same weight category, then theres only ONE outcome! You all should know it by now!

Calzaghe hides in Wales till Leonard is 40something! and then calls him out to get floored in round 1 but fortunately old Lenonard gassed after round 5 and is SD-d by young Zaghe's superior fitness. Then proceeds to whoop for joy after his miracle of split decisioning a shot legend!

I was not a fan of SRL particularly as a man but he defeated some of the best ever. Calzaghe is not in the same class. Calzaghe struggled against Robin Reid.
